In 2001 i put a H55 in 1981 fj40. I sourced a set of 60 series “L” hangers and they did not match the needed angle. Drilling a common 7x series mount in my opinion would be easier and CHEAPER. Of you are not doing a concours resto I doubt...

J60 series brackets are at a different angle. A 70 series bracket from 1990’s would take a newer flat h55 mount and the weld on brackets to frame bolt from underneath and new holes can be drilled for main mount. 4 weld on brackets, two inside...

If a buyer wants as is to use start with one like this. Restoring it will eat you alive so just pay more for a better truck.

Maroof. Cluster is a circuit board with no moving parts other than meter servos. I do not know enough electrical engineering to know if the cluster is shot or not. Look for continuity from the plug for tach to the meter connection on back (again...

No cable on 2013 models. It is a sender to the instrument cluster.

Any power to meter from other gauges or lights etc or is the whole thing dead? Two plugs to back of meter (for that production run). Make sure they are in. Check fuse if all out.

Why year and type of engine? 2009 was big switch to plastic dash and integrated cluster (6/2009). For speedo, the sender is on the transfer case and travels through the engine loom to left loom and to main. If you have the 1hz diesel, the tach...

A lot of thread drift in this tech discussion. Car is in US now, so importation issues are for another thread. It is clearly a H15x transmission as ID by case and t case. TIG welding the transfer case plug is best solution. Transfer rear case...

To fix the front part of case correctly it has to come off. At that point you could buy a new case front and glue on faster than messing with it. If you finances are good you could also get a H152 and install bypassing all internal issues with a...

Idiotic to replace the tensioner that often. The springs are often out of spec and should be replaced, but 100,000 miles for the tension pulley should be fine. 20,000 kilometers is nothing. Replacing the belt is most critical.

not rocket science to change a v8 152 to other version. 33131-60070 bearing retainer 90363-50012 bearing (hard to remove and reuse) 90311-35023 input seal and 33301-60060 input shaft plus a tube of red fipg. In the US, the H152 is a US part...

I believe this truck came out of El Paso. Transporter took it uncovered and shredded the original top circa 2000. Glad it has a good home. I will search for old images....

https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/2010-2016-2-plug-and-2016-present-3-plug-instrument-combination-clusters-faq.1324387/ I got mine from toyotadxb.com. Mine worked right out of box. I had vdj and "basic" versions. I assume you need a vdj...

Folks this is a 2023 with 13,000 klms. Why would factory set and no messed with knuckle and or wheel bearings be an issue? Tires might be off but a spin balance will reveal immediately. He added a new suspension system. The issue is there.

Check torque on all suspension parts especially the pan hard. It must be tight! My pan hard was under torqued and had same issue about same speed.

rick_d replied to the thread 1hd-t oil leak(s).
You have "schmutz" in your timing belt area as high as the tensioner pulley. I would pull and replace your camshaft seal and timing belt and timing cover gasket. Oil + timing belt can mean engine death. An ordeal so consider swapping water pump...

My HDT has whitish smoke at 2,400 meters (8000 feet) for minutes from overnight (10 hour) cold start until i reach solid block temperature. It must be timing/altitude adjustment. At 1,000 meters (3900 feet) i only see smoke for 5 minutes at cold...

Keep an eye on that starter. You should be able to get reman in US. The shell is near unobtanium for cast iron (ala 40/42 series). You could mine the copper and forge the steel to make a new one at $1355

For 2010-2016 versions no blue plug. This is as far as I got.

Don't bother with the links. The late stuff is not in all the online materials I have searched. Pin layout also changes in 2016 to include the blue plug six pin. The Tach for HZ/HDT is confirmed not in the blue plug.

Short nose truck for LJ. You will need to do a snout extension. LJ is not good option at altitude. LJ WILL NOT HAVE a h15x transmission. R series are fine. You won’t have 250 hp to wheels
