Just as an update I would like to show some LED stuff I bought. Those products got really cheap and sturdy. I paid like $30 per light. This is definitely not VisionX power but close and really outstanding for the price.

I would also like to ask a difficult (or maybe plain stupid) question. Why is the mileage of the 1FZ-FE so poor? What contributes to the fact that one engine of similar displacement has better mileage and another one worse?

Is it some kind of internal friction? Or maybe the injectors? Or maybe the engine ECU? Or the intake?

Every engine has some sort of efficiency and what is the factor that lowers the efficiency of the 1FZ-FE? Do I get anything in exchange for this low efficiency?

This engine is a workhorse designed for third world abuse and for forklifts. It can run on the poorest quality petrol and doesso happily. So, it's a robust engine but not very efficient as you know. It'd be interesting to find out the volumetric efficiency of this engine vs another inline 6 engine. This has been discussed before ad-nausea

I hope you aren't considering a head gasket change as a rebuild? I have seen lots of motors go 300k+ without a rebuild.

As for the effeciency of the engine, there are a lot of things and I think there was already a thread about things that could be done. Most of them include ignition and fueling and how the two are handled. If you went to COP ignition and stand alone EMS with sequential injector firing and controlled timing advance I do think you could see more for the engine, but again you are adding a lot more complexity to a system that is known for its "hand tools ease" to fix.

Subscribed, Building a camper myself, but nothing this extensive! Looking forward to the progress!
