Great work Jimmy! Nice to see new ideas. I really like your custom intercooler over the valve cover. You need to mass produce that for the 2LT crowd! I'm sure you'd have lots of customers.

I'm glad you put a fan on your front mount radiator. I had wired mine into the fog light switch initially too. It's too bad Toyota coupled it with the head lights. Maybe to keep people from forgetting about the fog lights and having their battery go dead.....

cannt you route those hoses so they come from the left side of the engine bay instead of beeing above the turbo?

probably you could also add a heat shield for the ic to separate it from turbo heat?

Id be interested in such an IC kit if egt are to get lower, definitely!

So here are the last of the pics of the Intercooler install. front view....

The Sky view.............

And the side view. You get a good idea of the clearance over the Valve cover in this one............

Now I can finally start on the cosmetics I've been waiting to get to. New rubber for sway bars, media blast the wheels and then the lift and new shoes.....funny how the list seems just as long as it was before the IC..

Great work. I'm planning my own system and I love seeing the different solutions people are coming up with.

Do you need an expansion bottle for a system like this?

Put on the longer brake hoses from body to axle and then the Dobinson's lift with a ton of help and direction from Nas90tdi. Definitely one of the good guys. This is the larger of the two lifts available.

She sits a lot taller and with new shoes, she'll add a little more!

One problem popped up. I bought a set of adjustable Pan Hard rods from Malaysia. The straight back ones fit nice but on the front Pan Hard, the bushing is too small to fit on the lower passenger side. Gonna see if my local machine shop can drill it out. Seems to be plenty of metal to work with. The joys of after Market add-ons!! I'll update my progress.

Now with the lift on, I put on the Dobinson's sway bar extenders. Here's the front

And the Rear.

P1020762.JPG

Just a note for anyone who does this. You will need to drill the lowest hole in the rear bracket as the ones in it are too far apart and the measurement from hole to hole is 50 mm. FYI

I mentioned I had an issue with the adjustable Panhard on the front. I got the set from Malaysia that is on ebay. IF you do the same, just a heads up that the hole on the lower passenger side was the wrong size on my LJ78. I had the hole bored out to 20 mm and it fit perfect!
They look like this.

It's this end.

Mounted.

Glad you got that sorted. I hated we didn't get that done while you were over doing the suspension.

Have you driven it yet? I am curious to get your feedback on the intercooler setup.

Well the doorbell rang and this showed up from Taiwan. an HZJ7x fan......

However, before I can tackle the fan and clutch oil change I have to finish this project.......

I've been staring at the template for over a week trying to get up the nerve to actually drill those massive holes in the side of my fender....... C'mon Jim just do it...

So, I pulled the Fan Clutch and shroud to change the silicone in the hub and attach the HZJ7X fan.

Replaced the silicone per the Blue Hub Mod thread with 10,000 silicone. The fan fits but, it does just touch the OEM fan shroud at the top where it slopes down to the front of the vehicle. So some modification will be necessary.

Will hopefully get the snorkel buttoned up in the next day or two. More to come.
