Traded my Pig for a 93 FZJ80 today!!!

Why? See here: https://forum.ih8mud.com/80-series-tech/240905-so-impressed-fzj80.html

The truck has high miles (246k) but has been well taken care of, dealer serviced until about 30k ago. It's really dirty and needs a bunch of little updates and adjustments but it runs great, already is lifted and on 35's, has big bumpers, and the all important lockers (though I need to get those working)

It's tight and rattle free, everything seems to work, it looks great, and it's the tallest truck I've ever owned. Leather, stereo, AC, Elockers, giant sunroof, it's just loaded.

To Do's:

1. Clean Clean Clean
2. Baseline Fluids and Tuneup
3. Register & Inspected
4. Rebuild front axle seals and repack birfs (the Driver's front is slinging grease)
5. Get that Check Engine and ABS light fixed and clear
6. Replace the driver's seat belt, it's pretty chewed up and not long enough for me anyway.
7. Start saving for Sliders + TrXus MT's. :)

I am REALLY happy with it, it drove GREAT on the way home (3 hrs). I loved the Pig in my driveway but it was a bear to drive and I just didn't trust it for long trips. The 80 will be a much more useful truck for me and it will do all the wheeling I personally want to do. My wife and son Love it as well.

Did I mention it's humongous and won't fit in my garage? :)

Good head start w/ the lift and the bumpers. I followed your pig ownership as well. I think you got yours shortly after i got mine. Congrats on the trade up.

Glad to hear you made it home Dave
Thanks for bringing that key back
Enjoy

Awesome rig! It does look huge with those tires. I just bought a 94 2 days ago, so I've been doin some fixin up myself. This is my first cruiser, and I am amazed of how well built these things are. I used to be shocked on how much these things cost, but now I know why. Congrats on your new purchase!

nice Dave looks like your best move yet

how did I miss this, oh ya, lame title. Looks good Dave! Can I add you to my rear bumper party? I have 5 people interested now and the more the cheaper. Fabbing will be in my heated garage though.

Is that paint code 183? if so it's the same as Nat's and my son's, I'm the lighter shade of gray.

VERY NICE! Dave you found your self one bad ass 80 congrats
looks like 80's are taking over YT

Is that Kina's 80?

It was. :)

Rick & Nat,
I have a great rear bumper on there but I would love a swing out tire carrier for it. :)
Wow I can believe he got rid of it! But then again he really didn't wheel it much. His loss your gain! Congrats. 80's rule!

Discovered my key doesn't work in the door, old fob on the way from the PO but need to get some graphite in that keyhole and see if I can get it working. You can trust a key, fobs for old vehicles I have less faith in.

Going to give it a quick interior cleanup tonight so I can take it to the DMV in the morning and get it registered. Full-on cleaning on Saturday with seats and carpet coming out to do the job right. :)

5. Get that Check Engine and ABS light fixed and clear

'93... with ABS? Cool. I didn't think that option was available until '95.

Learn something new every day.

Welcome to the 80's side! :flipoff2:

Look great! Congrats!
