Looks like I may need an A/C Evaporator. OE Toyota as well as aftermarket Denso is gone.

For those of you who have replaced the Evaporator Core with aftermarket what brand were you happy with?

Also, if anyone has a boxed Denso unit they don't need, I'm here.

Cheers. :)

Based in Yemen. Prices are proud (e.g. $1,200 for 3F Aisin carb.) But, he is the most professional and reliable of the GCC and Iranian parts vendors. Literally every other vendor from Jeddah to Tehran are a crap shoot and there are scammers a plenty.

Is it a pin hole leak? Find a radiator shop that could fix it, I know most of them have close their doors due to EPA crap.

Good to know, thank you.

Don't have it out yet, but I have to add two cans of R134a every summer. Finally put some UV dye in and no leaks in engine compartment, but I'm seeing some UV glow around the seam of the evaporator box. None in the ducts though.

I have the Toyota drier from the R134a conversion TSB, so might as well do it all at once since I have to open the system.

Fwiw, I had the evaporator and expansion valve and pressure switch replaced at K&H maybe 15 years ago. This time I'll do it myself.

Are you dead set on OEM? I’ve purchased two from City Racer last summer for two different trucks. I have had zero issues with both.

I didn't know he had evaporators. I'm going to go check now.

I don't see any

Onur, many, myself included, recognize your knowledge on Land Cruisers. Many of your posts are insightful, informative and contribute to the corpus of knowledge on Land Cruisers.

This isn’t one of those posts 😉

Maybe the evaporator itself is not leaking. It could be the O-ring between the evaporator and expansion valve.

Edit; I could be wrong as I'm thinking of my mini truck. It has the O-ring to the expansion valve and another 0-ring to the tube with the pressure switch.
