Congratulations to the event team and participants in making this possible
Next year will be the 10th Anniversary of this event, so we have to go “big time” to make sure it’s the best yet. 😁

For those of you that do Facebook, in addition to ‘MUD, there is a newly formed page dedicated to the 2025 event. It’s open to the public and will contain continuous updates throughout the year. 😊

With two separate information sources, will efforts be made to ensure that both sources are complete and current on information?

I ask because I have seen instances here on Mud, chapters for example, that have established dual information sources that become out-of-sync and incomplete which has created issues in event participation because members do not have complete and consistent information.

Thanks

Larry, The new Facebook page is being administered by a supporter (volunteer), but I’ll do my best to make sure the information posted on ‘MUD, starting in the summer, is up to date.

Our goal is to have a presence on ‘MUD, Facebook, Instagram and in print on Toyota Trails. 😊

THE ANNOUNCEMENT I WAS HOPING WOULD BE A LONG TIME IN COMING……..
Many of you knew Peter E. Brown (@peterb on ‘ MUD) but may not have been aware that he was diagnosed with ALS just a little over 2 years ago. He unfortunately lost his battle with this cruel disease on February 24th. He was one of the 3 original organizers, along with Sam Houston and myself, of this event and the reason we added the ALS Charity to our event starting in 2023. He attended the event for the last time in 2023 but even at that early point was already showing symptoms. Unfortunately, he was unable to attend in 2024 due to expanding symptoms. Peter was not only a 70 Series enthusiast but a great friend.
Starting this September (which is the 10th anniversary) our event will be renamed the
“Peter E. Brown Memorial 70 Series Meet & Greet To Support ALS”.
Hoping to see everyone in September.

Peter will be missed. I first met him, maybe 20 years ago, when he was wheeling his green 40. His outgoing personality and good nature were obvious even at a first meeting.
My condolences to his family and all his friends.

Anyone that removes his snorkel and covers up the hole in the fender with flattened PBR beer can is going to be fun to be around. (That was Peter). 😁

This is sad to hear. He reached out about some stuff a couple of years back and he indicated the prognosis wasn’t the best.

Good guy. Original KY/OH hardcore crew I met way back in the early 2000’s when I lived in OH. We reconnected again in 2015 at the 70 gathering…

RIP, Peter.

The famous PBR cans covering up a hole in the fender. A Peter Brown trademark. 😁

Although this event is still a number of months away (9/11-14), we are already trying to get our ducks in a row.
* We’re already contacting potential sponsors and donors (raffle items). If you have an interest in being in either of these categories, please give me a shout.
* In early July we’ll send emails (early notices) to everyone who attended last years event. If you would like to be added to this list, please send me a P.M.
* Our ad in “Toyota Trails” will run in the July / August edition.
* Registration will most likely start in early August (exact date to be determined).
In the end, we want to put on an event Peter would be proud of. 😊

We’ll post the new thread (10th Anniversary) sometime in July, but I’m pleased to announce that even at this early stage, we have a significant number of donors / sponsors who have expressed an interest in supporting the event.
** As I mentioned earlier, we’ll send out notices in July to everyone who attended last year. If you would like to be on this list please let me know. 😊

When we do hit our stride, (July) we’ll have a presence on ‘MUD, Facebook (multiple threads), YouTube, Instagram and in print on ToyotaTrails. We’ll do our best to update the information on a regular basis. 😊
