It's a respray and doubt an OE code, even, but need to see Desert Dune before totally ruling out painting monotone with.

These two colors are weird.

At times the upper appears a muted/matte gray, others beige, while the lower can look either silver/gray to blue.

Could handle sage, no problem, even the desert dune if it looks different than the existing, but in a perfect world, I'd opt white.

Kinda glad the interior is oak. If it were gray, I'd step way out of the box and paint an IS metallic silver.

Realize nothing can be determined from this, but the firewall/inner color is completely different from the body.

Buddy at a high end shop said it appears original.

Figured it'd be prudent to check out a OE desert dune 80, before making the decision, but even then, I can't swear that the body won't come off anyway.

Intend to semi-restore and preserve, hopefully at a quality level that will be appreciated for many more years.

I wish the others hadn't jinxed ya - and I don't know how to undo it.
Nice, super nice find.
Yah, another sign confirming respray is placement of the full time 4wd emblem.
Nice, clean looking rig!

Nice rig! I cried a little when I saw pictures of the 80. Although it got me into the 80 for a family wheeler so hey...it works.

Alrhough I didn't catch THAT one, it's not the only evidence.

Great score on the floor mats Chris.

I wish.

He was only taunting in his post.

Still cry to this day, but something good will come out it it.

Congrats on transitioning to the dark side!

Nice find Chris :)

Same upholstery as my '95! Very comfortable, practical seat covers. My driver's seat cover is badly worn (but not split). Anybody have a new one they want to sell?

Good luck.....but just in case, I'll see your offer and raise 20%.....and that goes for all NIB or damn near new seat covers, foam, headrests covers, door cards, floor mats, cargo mat....

Bahahaha.

This is in pretty good shape, but know it won't make the long haul, so in like Flynn if anyone has new or like new goods they want to heavily capitalize on.

Which parts do you need?

In a perfect world....bare necessities:

Full front and rear seat covers
Head rest covers
Front and rear foam
Head rest foam (or full assembly)

If those were source-able, wouldn't mind the doors cards that match the fabric pattern.

That's the Pink Panty in you talking.

Seems most either love it or hate it, kinda like the sunroof.

In this case, removal completes the Poverty Pack motif, so a consideration, but may be a bit before crossing that bridge.

Had it been a stellar, but slightly patina'd 80, with a documented history to substantiate, I wouldn't change anything, but it's not, so a little artistic freedom may be imparted.

Have broached this subject before, but will again, since needing to get the order committed.

There's obvious rake on an OE 80, as it's common on all Toyota's as the DS lean, although it's less common for folks to merely level 80s with spacers on OE coils, as interwebs searches have turned up nothing.

So, measured and visualized what I think is pretty close, at +1.5" for the front coils to lift, with OE rear coils, to level.

Sound right to anyone else?

Sounds good to me. You could probably use the "stock" height OME front coils and OE rear coils. Then add a spacer if needed. Or just go with the whole OME stock height replacement.

Not sure how the OME "stock" compares to new OEM springs, but my old springs were quite sagged/worn. Unless you are going with new OEMs in the rear, you might get a good bit of roll from the rear still as the OMEs are significantly stiffer than worn OEMs. Makes cornering more enjoyable though...

One question--isn't the seat foam the same as any upholstered 80 seat as long as its not leather covered? Can't you get those from any vendor?

Plan to order from CSS, having had good experiences on other Toyota platforms in the past.

They build based on VIN, with the ability to modify for ride height and coil stiffness, along with mitigating DS lean, if so desired.

Gonna go OE height in the rear,+1.5" up front, and 20% stiffer than OE on all four corners, unless there an obvious flaw in that description.
