the price would be good in TX. I like the rack and bumper. depends on how it runs

I like the color but obviously a repaint and they didn't hit the door jambs. Wonder what he quality of the spray is. Also looks like all the carpet, or at least front is missing. I'd be asking questions about why. Sunk/flooded or what. Wasn't lined over either.

Nice list of goodies off the bat. Seems like a fair deal if all checked out but I'd definitely want to see in person and drive.

Post up in the tn clubhouse and see if anyone knows it.

Looks like a good deal to me if its maintained. It has some big money in aftermarket and the best .............LOCKERS,,,,,make sure they work...if not price should go down a little.

FZJ80 Head Gasket / Engine rebuild

Hey guys, newbie here, decided to join up I end up reading so many threads from google anyways.

96 FZJ80 just did a head gasket (confirmed). Thinking on rebuilding the same engine 520K but unsure how many K's on LPG, as I'm the second owner.

Question is it worth it?
After all, buying another lower Klm engine may seem cheap, but another HG may blow in 1-200 K's anyway.

Not interested in LS1's want to stay OEM where possible.
Know I'm up for some fun as haven't stripped a motor before so keen to make this the first. Looking for pointers and tips and tricks.

List of things I know I'll need:
Head Gasket: OEM, Copper or other not sure where to go but OEM seems the way
New valves and stem seals.
New head or same head with hardened seats for LPG application.
All bearings, gaskets and rings
Maybe some pistons if they don't pull up nice.
Will change Clutch to Heavy Duty while its out and will be dressing the engine and bay as I go.

Anything else?

Not sure Sam new myself trying to get feedback on my last quote.

Maybe I'm in the wrong section.

Also the owner told me that the head gasket was replaced. Is this bad or anything?

If the head gasket was done right and he has receipts to show what else was done while they were in there, yes a new head gasket is a good thing.

I don't know of an easy (or cheap) way to swap a manual into a '93+ cruiser. But the auto is a strong transmission in these if it has been cared for.

Those "sliders" look like nerf bars to me. Check those out too.

Good luck!

Be sure to check the steering knuckles to see if they leak or very greasy (there will be a little bit of wiped grease on the two shiny spheres and it's normal). And check the pesky heater hose. It's in a difficult position to see. Maybe bring a camera with you and take a photo of it. Bring a OBD II code reader to plug it in to see if the emission system status is "ready" or "pending." If it's "ready" then everything should be good. If it's "pending" then the ECU probably had a code and was reset recently.

Otherwise it looks like a good price.
