Last November, I was dealing with a limp mode problem in my 95 fzj80. It would reach about 20 mph and peak at 2k rpm and would stall going up hill. I parked it for a few months and thought it was a fuel issue. Got a new fuel pump and installed it in January. Drove it around for a while and eventually the same issue again. When in neutral it would rev and feel fine but when engine was under load it would bog down. No engine codes either. Just this week I purchased a new fuel filter (I have no history when it was last replaced) and cleaned the Mass Air Flow Sensor. Is there anything else I should check? After some digging on the forum, the shift solenoid seems like a potential area to check but not 100%.

That sounds like clogged cats. I had the same issue with two Dodge products back in the day and your symptoms sound very familiar.

Different vehicle but I had an Accord that did the same thing as well, turned out to be a typical issue with the distributor cap "cracking". Replaced the cap and it ran great until the next cap went. Replaced two more times before selling the car, about once a year.

I have also seen this several times on the forum, usually it was the cats. IR gun the cats first. Fuel filter, if you have not changed it in awhile should be replaced anyway. Depending on last time you replaced cap, rotors, and wires may also be a good candidate for a PM.

These are also classic symptoms for the air intake tube having a crack, which at first only opens up as the engine is under load and flexes against the mounts. It can be easy to miss so check it thoroughly in between the ribs on the bottom.
+1 for the cats.
