So I was driving around with th kids yesterday and the radio suddenly just...went out......no music. The equalizer showed it was playing but no sound.
30 min later the sound came back on. Well today, the cruise control went out. I stopped for lunch, restarted the truck and it became operational again. Could this be related?? Any ideas, do fuses show this symptom before they go bad?

Doesn't sound like a fuse. Fuses are either good, or bad. Sounds like a ground problem to me. Get out your EWD or borrow one and find all the grounds and make sure they are tight. Thats where I would start.

The radio function of my factory cd/tap/radio deck stopped working completely randomly the other day. CD and Tape still worked.

Yesterday I had the battery cable off to reset the CEL light. Turned the truck back on and the radio function began to work again.

I would yank the battery cable and let things reset... kind of a shot in the dark but it couldn't hurt...

Air, did your charge light come on at all? Can't conclude much from the brief details, but keep jumper cables handy as it sounds to me like your batt may be having issues - could be more like ground etc, but keep en eye out for other clues.

This may also be a sign saying you need bigger tires :D (well you won't fall for that but someone may :D ).

If it's not a bad ground it's probably corroded terminals/cables. Toyotas like good clean terminals and cables. I'm working on finding a bad ground now in my 93. I ordered the EWD. Should be here soon. Good luck!

No charge light at all. My terminals are perfectly clean and i have two NEW Optimas....I will retighten the ground on the battery again. Very bizarre.

Airlaird - I'd swing by where you got them and have them load test the batteries unless you have a tester. You just never know.

Also, do you have a marine switch wired in at all? Mike Gozzard was able to instantly spot a weakness in my dual batt setup when he saw the pos GUES switch I was using. Just something to check, plus the testing of your iso if you have one etc. Could even be a loose excite wire going between alt and iso.

have you had any luck? we were driving the 94 yesterday, and as I am driving at 60 the engine became non responsive to the gas pedal, I would floor it and nothing would happen, the motor just went to idle, the o/d light was flashing,, weird,
