Guess I waited long enough to swap out my gas tank... Woke up to a puddle of gas on the pavement. Shes sittin outside with a bucket under her now lol.

At least I have a new tank/filler in a box in the garage and am prepared for once.

I want to do the lspv at the same time. Mine is rusted on to the bracket and I couldnt get it off for the life of me last time I tried. I have a new bracket and lspv so maybe itll go a little easier this time around.

Wish me luck.

Toasting to your success on the repairs with a big cup of penetrating oil;)!

Well, the gas tank has been replaced.

Thank god the mudder I got the tank from included everything since I ended up needing the skid/straps.

I had to work 12hrs the first day so Pete came over and started tearing er apart for me. When I got home we dropped the old tank which was not fun. It seemed to be leaking from about 10 different spots and we ended up breaking the 2 frame side straps trying to undo the bolts. This made for a longer job since I had to plate and weld. By roughly 11:15pm we had the new tank in and called it quits for the night.

The next day Pete, the good guy he is, came back by and finished buttoning everything up for me.

One snag was the new filler tube. He could not get it in and lined up no matter what he tried and he tried for a good hour. He ended up cutting the brand new looking filler tubes in two and it worked like a charm. He staggered the cuts (filler/vent) by about 8 inches and used the rubber hose remnants from the old tank to patch them back together. This way the pipes still have 98% of their rigidity (I gave them a shake and they do not flex at all).

And then there was no gas smell in Darwins driveway.

Ill snap a couple pics when it stops raining.

In the pic above you can see the cuts that had to be made to the filler/vent pipes.

Couple few more stickers but she still looks about the same.

The 60 has the massive tuffy console thing but I found it a pain in the ass to reach inside when I wasnt in the vehicle. It didnt have a spot to just drop a wallet/cell and it was bugging the crap out of me. Now I jump in, throw everything Im carrying into my new basket and voila.

Stop putting your 60 info here and post it up in the 60 section!

I've never seen a basket like that before. I LOVE it!

Posted it up in the 60 section just for you lol.

I finally bit the bullet and did the hard brake lines.

Drivers side hard line on the r axle was done this summer so we just routed it a little better. We put in a new line on the ps, a new lspv/bracket, new hard line from lspv to flex line, and a new flex line. Changed both hard lines on the ds frame rail from the lspv to the abs "junction" under the battery tray.

In the front we changed the hard line from the abs deal to the ds flex line, the flex line, and the hard line on the axle. On the ps we did the hard line on the axle. Both of the lines on the axle were beyond rusted.

All four flex lines at the calipers looked good so we left them.

The lspv was a pain in the ass and in the end I cut it out leaving half the bracket in place, cut the new bracket to fit , and bolted what was left of the old bracket to the new one. Better than messing w the rusted to all hell bolts beside the gas tank. Not sure if we set it up right but the brakes work good....

Also managed to break a bleeder on the ps caliper. Instead of drilling and whatnot we called the parts place and by some miracle they had an 80 ps caliper in stock!!

The beater got a new welfare exhaust this past week. Nothing special just a y pipe where the cats are supposed to be, new no name muffler, and a re routed tail pipe (along the ps inner frame rail dumping at the r bumper). 2 1/4 inch tubing throughout.

Sounds ok at best but at least theres no more rattles so thats kind of cool. Ive also convinced myself the van has more nuts now but its probably not true. Looks good without the cut down oe tail pipe sticking down below the frame. Id post pics but its slushing outside right now.

Got tired of the fire extinguisher rolling around in the back so I bitched up a little holder that also fits the hilift from the put away for the winter 60.
