I am just the opposite. I have a Pickup transfercase and would like to put the FJ60 off-set rear in my project but am not sure if there would be any drive line problems. Most folks say don't do it. It would be a street truck with minimal lift, all highway miles on mine.

It really only takes a tiny amount of driveline binding to destroy a transfer case. With those angles, you're signing up for trouble. I would be careful.

I'm trying to find a suitable turbo for my 3b but i don't know what size to get and i don't know how to use the calculator. These are the stats from a turbo for a volvo 740 does this seem right?

Compressor:
Trim: 55
A/R: .5
Inducer: 50.5
Exducer: 76

Turbine:
Trim: 73
A/R: .63
Inducer: 65.5
Exducer: 55.9
 
I am just going to buy a turbo off ebay but i need to know what size is good for a 3b any help?
 
You may want to inquire in the desiel section of the forum for your 3b turbo questions. You will get lots more info in that section I think.

I saw one guy has a Subru WRX turbo hooked up to his. waste gate set at 14psi if I remember right.

He said it made a big difference for his.

Put a coat of primer on it today got too dark for paint its going to be silver. I am also painting the tranny and t case.

Be very careful, eBay turbos have been known to not last, remember you get what you pay for. My other car/toy is a Subaru WRX, I've put a but load of money in to it in upgrades, rule of thumb is stay away from cheep eBay turbos, spend the money to save it. Cool project, I'd love to do this on my 86 runner.

Update

Its been a while since i posted anything on here. A lot has been done since here's a few pics.

Finally found a box for it i was planning on a flat deck. I bobbed the box 12 inches in the front its off an 81 and my frame is from an 82 so the rear box mounts bolted right up just gotta build the front ones. I also removed the fan clutch took it apart and welded it solid and bolted the fan to the backside of it giving me 3-4 inches of space i can now fit the stock rad with about an inch and a half of space in between. The frame got painted gloss black as well as the axles and springs. Rear axle got rebuild with a locker and i just ordered a knuckle sandwitch for my front axle which has to have the knuckles rotated because of the angle of the t case output
 
been a while since my last post new stuff: Front axle cut and turned rotated half an inch and completely rebuild and painted, Fan clutch shortened 4 inches by removing the cover plate and welding the clutch to the housing so its always spinning now and i bolted the fan to the backside of the assembly i can now fit the 60 series rad with 2 inches to spare. Glow plugs wired to a switch in the cab starter wired to key switch all brakes done with new lines all around. Had to do a 2 inch body lift so the box lines would line up with the cab, Fuel tank mounted and fuel line ran down the frame. New tires and wheels 33x10.5 r 15 BFG MT KM1's lockright in the rear axle, Got rid of front backing plates, New calipers, Road tested it to 60km no vibrations. Thats all i can think of at the moment im sure theres more.... some pics.
