Some more updates. Actually got one mounted.

I really don't know why people think its so hard to make these seats work. Its actually pretty damn easy to tell you the truth. They will work perfect for my kids.

These came out of a late 80s Nissan Sentra. But, most imports will work with these strikers. These are VERY commons strikers.

So, I added a couple mods to the Cruiser. First one was that I found a complete FJ62 in one of the local yards. It had the larger mirrors. They were chrome, so I sanded them down and painted them black. Not a big chrome fan.

I also pulled the grill and headlight surrounds to paint them as well.

Yes, I used 1.5" spacers on all four wheels. They are 4.75" backspacing.

FWIW, if you upgrade to the 90-95 V6 4runner/pickup calipers the wheels will clear with 3.75" backspacing. I know this for fact.

That is exactly what my old 4runner ran with the solid front axle:

Today I am adding a 1" bore master cylinder and some V6 4runner calipers to it. Should also finish the PRP seat install and the final 3rd row install. Then it will be ready for the V8 swap.

Sweet. Using the standard T100 master cylinder, correct?

Using a 93 4runner master cylinder with a V6.

Well, I was going to use it until I realized that it already had a 1" bore MC swapped on.

I had never even checked it out. However, the V6 calipers are massive compared to stock and make a noticeable difference.

Gotcha, you were going to match the MC to the calipers. Good idea. What 1" MC does it currently have?

I honestly don't know. It looks like the booster and MC were swapped in one new unit.

But, the 4runner one would be a direct bolt in for it. Any 90-95 4runner or pickup with the V6 will have the 1" bore MC. I believe stock is a 13/16" one. I know it is on the earlier pickup and 4runners with the 22RE.

2nd gen 4runners are a dime a dozen out here in the pic n pulls. The MC runs a whopping $12 + $3 core in my local one. They have at least 5 truck out there right now.

Have you wheeled this thing yet?

No. It won't get wheeled until the V8 gets dropped in and I can build driveshafts for it. I do drive it daily, but that is it for now.

I recently bought a tent trailer that I will be doing a SOA on, and adding bigger tires to it. The plan is to use the Cruiser for towing it where I want to go. Nothing serious, just a few places that it will need some extra clearance.

It did get a new windshield yesterday though. :grinpimp:

This is what I wheel right now:
