Mileage 269,xxx
Name of owner: Jen Bolen
Name of rig: Roxy Rig ;)
3" suspension lift, arb bumper, 33s soon to be 35s with 5:29s. In the middle of a new paint job but here's what she looked like a couple days ago.
She's my daily driver hauling around my four kiddos but also hitting the trails in the summer. We live in Placerville, ca area, pretty close to the rubicon so the goal is to get her in tip top shape for that trail. View attachment 1032454

Lots of noobs registered :p Don't forget to pin your location!!!

New 80 Series owners pin your rig!!

https://www.google.com/maps/d/edit?hl=en&authuser=0&mid=zVmGnK3aqeqI.kE6yV57QFDtI

Thought this would be interesting to see where we are all from by pinning on this Google map your location. You don't have to put our exact address just city center is fine. Have to be a Google user to pin.

You need to log in as a Google mail or account user, if you are not just reply here with your google map location and I will pin your location :)

1. Sign in to your Google account
2. search for your location in the search bar, right click on the red pin, save to 80 series map
3. blue pin comes up on left, click on it and info box pops up
4. fill in any info you want like ih8mud or rig name or both, click 'ok' (not shown)
5. click 'save' then 'done'

Can't post it? I will do it for you! Just need basic location and rig name if you have one for it yet :p

PLEASE DO NOT EDIT THE MAP TITLE!!!!!!

Mods:
So far, ARB Delux front bumper, Smittybuilt 9000 wench, OME 2.5" lift with Metal Tech 1.5" spacers up front. building a custom subwoofer box(fiberglass) for steath, JL Audio 12w3v3 sub with alpine 500/1 amp. Have memphis audio coaxils up front and in the rear, but about to upgrade the whole audio system because I am a huge music fan. Also building a roof rack, line x the roof, maybe all the way down to the pin striping, then maybe (you guys have about convinced me) remove the fender flares and the body kit that comes on the 450s and line x all that area too, so I would just have the white through the middle and back hatch. Adding a small 1 gallon air compressor, just dont know how I want to hook it up just yet. I'd like to regear to a 4.88 asap due to getting bigger tires this week. More on that in a second...
I use my truck as my daily driver, but take it everywhere! My goal is to have it self sustainable in the woods, hence the draw I had to this forum. If I pop a tire, I fix it on the trail. If a battery goes dead, I swap. Etc.
Now as far as the tires...I've decided to go with 315/75/16 on my stock wheels, maybe add a 1.5 inch spacer. I've narrowed it dowm to 2 tires, Fierce Attitude MTs or Kumho Road Venture MTs. Any suggestions on the decision from you guys?
And I dont have a picture just yet. When I get these tires on, I'll take a few. Also needing a rear bumper. LOVE THIS SITE by the way!

Many thanks to woody and to all that participate here! I learned a lot and chose to buy the FZJ almost purely because of the information I gleaned here along with the passion of the owners!

1. Year and model: 1994 FZJ 80
2. Name of owner: Greg
3. Name of rig: We just brought her home last night and haven't come up with a name just yet.
4. Mileage: 265,000
5. Mods: It's quite stock at the moment, and no lockers or ABS. The PO put in a new short block about 35K miles back. The removal of the aftermarket running boards will be my first "mod." Along with a few (dozen) little things, an OME 2.5" lift, and something like 35" tires.
6. How the truck is (going to be) used: Almost exclusively trails.
7. Photos coming... I need to figure out how to shrink them to a reasonable size first.

Hello, I am new on the forum (certainly the latest member).
Have recently bought an 80 series that needs a few repairs and have come across IH8MUD and feel that I can't do without it anymore...:)

So here is my 80 series info:

1. Year and model: 1993 HDJ81

2. Name of owner: Paul

3. Name of rig: Betla

4. Mileage: odometer not working, stuck on 160,000 and some Kilometers

5. Mods: It's a RHD to LHD conversion imported from Australia (conversion was done pretty well). It's lifted, OME lift I think, haven't measured by how much yet (seems to be a 4" lift) and the injection pump seems to have been modified for more power. Previous owner says it had a Cold Air intake on it that he removed and fitted the stock air filter box back. ARB bumper, 31X10.5X15 tires (i think they are the best possible looking and performing tires for this truck) .

6. How the truck is (going to be) used: Daily driver, trails (where I am, roads are so bad that they are daily trails, plus lots of hills, mud, everyday)

7. Photos: A pic of the truck before any repair

New Owner coming over from the Jeep world (don't be too hard on me). Was looking for a more heavy duty rig so I can worry less about breakage; the added interior space is a plus with a wife, two kids, and a dog as well! It didn't help that almost everyone I wheel with has an 80 series...

Well, new owner here (since 28Feb) - 1st time owning a Cruiser, or any Toyota for that matter. Been off-roading & trail riding for quite some time, wheeling in a succession of rigs - F150 on 33's, Suzuki Sidekick, several Jeep XJ's, and a JK (wife's DD). Our JK has been a great little exploring vehicle - but it's not really an ideal expedition rig. I recently decided to get another rig, and after pondering getting another XJ (or possible a ZJ or WJ) - I succumbed to the allure of the FJ... Visions of built Toyotas traversing the Outback, or the wildest regions of South America led me off to Craigslist - and I'm now a proud FJ80 owner!

3. Still undecided... Trying to come up with a worthy name.
4. 248,000 miles
5. Truck's been 'blacked out' by a PO - matte black 'bedliner' exterior, some sort of aftermarket muffler. Goals are probably 2.5" lift, 35's, bumpers/winch/rear carriers, sliders/armor - and lockers at some point. I've got a Safari Rack on the JK - I may steal it for the Cruiser...
6. Camping/Exploring, making smaller vehicles very nervous... Long term goal is to do some bigger expeditions, rather than the mainly weekend trips I've been doing.
