Yeah, it seems huge.

Most bolt on bumpers are just as expensive if not more.

Not my cup 'o tea! (big, heavy, ugly...)

Just weighing all my options. If anyone has more close up shots with swingouts open or none at all, that would be great.

There were pics when it first came out, I'll see if I can find the thread. The guy who had it, did not even speak very highly of it...

Dingo's thread is awesome. Great info about the ARB.

I was thinking about buying just the bumper first, and add the swingouts later, but I don't think that would work because of how integrated everything is.

2500 is still much cheaper than a dual Kaymar.

Thanks for the links.

Yep those pics really show how far it hangs off.

Thinking of 4x4 labs and a new welder again. I can weld, I just don't have the space to put it together. Don't think the wife would let me do it in the living room over the winter!!!

Do a search on Dingo
I have the ARB rear bumper. I don't think its heavier than the Slee, it does stick out a bit more, but I like the built in step, the built in receiver hitch and integrated tail lights. ( I have installed both the ARB and the Slee) We have used it off road quite a bit and only hung up once on a steep drop. We do more off road expedition driving, so I am not concerned with rock crawl ability. It was tough to assemble, and I would have preferred a double can carrier. I got a deal on it as part of the sale of our FJ-55. If I did it again I would pick Slee or Kaymar, mostly for ease of installation.
There are more pics in the Dingo thread on my signature if you are interested.
Cheers

Awesome!! I love MUD!

Thank you for posting up the "Dingo"

Your pics really help.

I did some price comparisons of different bumpers. These prices are for a simple set-up of the bumper with at least one swing out for the spare, with the exception of Slee's which is a dual.

Kaymar.....$2662
Slee.........$2385
Bump It....$1400 (starting at)
4x4Labs....$1020
ARB.........$1938

These are all obviously without shipping.

Slee is the closest to me, I could pick it up and save on shipping plus its a dual swingout, 4X4Labs is cool because I would have a new welder when all said and done, ARB with one swingout isn't bad except shipping and length protruding from the rear, if only one swingout is used is there some sort of blank to cover the other side?? Kaymar is too much regardless, I like the older one anyway, I did chat with the guy who has the one for sale in TX, too much for me on a 8yr old used bumper. Bump it seems nice, but again shipping may be a killer.

The other kicker is I do want the integrated receiver rated for towing.

Another option would be to call Proffitts and get a quote, they are really close also.

I had a Solid Rock Off Road dual swingout on my 60 and loved it, wish he was still welding!

This is what I had on the 60 for $1200 used.

Decisions..Decisions.

Have you taken a look at tactical armor group's bumper?
It looks pretty clean and the price is incredibly low, starting at $400.
MultiCarrier (FJ80 Series)

there are a couple threads on it. the company supposedly has terrible customer service, but the product is solid except for the latch than can be switched out. I heard mounting was a real pain, but its still sounds like less time than the 4x4 Labs build kit.

yes, TAG, formerly KMA, has really bad customer service. I had one of KMA's winch bumpers on my former pickup. A fine product, but not quite as nicely finished as a Slee or similar, rougher welds, the plain paint did not hold up well, etc. If you ordered it unfinished and planned to do some grinder time and give it a proper painting, you would have a good bumper. Maybe their service has improved and you would get the product quickly, they do at least have better prices.

Hmm. That bumper isn't bad. Right at 765 with a tire carrier and hitch. Calling for a shipping quote today. Seems pretty reasonable.

Anyone know who makes the receiver mount tire carriers?

Can you either post up what kind of reply you get from them or if you want PM me? These folks are close and I'm looking for a low(er) cost rear bumper w/o swingout.

Everyone else's prices are ***** high for the product.

I'm interested to hear what you find out. In the other thread a guy with a 60 ending up "cutting out my rear crossmember and 4" of frame rail to make the rear bumper fit"

I'm hoping the install is smoother on the 80

I cut my old 60's crossmember. Wasn't too concerned because your replacing it with a huge rear bumper that is way more solid in my opinion.

Didn't get around to calling TAG yet.
