Got a new rear bumper a couple months ago and thought I would post up some pictures. Before anyone gets to excited please be aware that this company is the former Kennesaw Mountain Accesories. If you search them you will find terrible reviews just about everywhere you look.

I ordered the bumper around November and was originally told it would be 2 weeks and it would be ready. WOW I thought, sign me up. Well that 2 week time frame turned into 3 1/2 months with a new excuse everytime I called. Only reason I went through with it is beacuse they were local and I knew where there shop was. Worse case I would have to kick a door and get my money back.

I believe it was Kyle that I dealt with on every occasion but he really just had no clue when it would be ready. I heard, "Waiting on materials" just about every time I called. But in his defense he seems to be real busy and it's just him and a helper doing all the work. Also, I called after I placed my order and asked if the 2 Jerry can holder could be turned into a cooler mount. He had no problem and just asked for the dimensions I wanted.

When I placed the order the company was still KMA but by the time I picked it up he had changed the name to TAG. Setting the customer service aside, he delivered a high quality bumper at a price that can not be beat by anyone else out there I have found. It was around $888 out the door. I also got the tire carrier/cooler rack/license plate light/hi-lift mount/tow hitch/shackles and the bed liner on it.

You will see that the latch is for sure something that could be improved upon. Trying to get some ideas together on how to rig it so that it won't require a certain jerk and pull on it. Also could use a stop of some sort so it does not slam into the body but long as your careful on inclines you should not have a problem.

I do not have the spare mounted up yet but I just picked up the 35x12.50x15 today to throw on there. Going to have a buddy get it on the rim for me and I will post pictures as soon as that happens.

So to sum it all up. Thought I would share what I believe is a quality rear bumper at a price that beats anything I've run across. Just wanted you guys to know that the company has a past and is not just getting into the bumper building scene.

They are located in Douglasville, Ga by the way. Short drive from Atlanta.

looks freakin sweet man

looks pretty stout. All the carriers I have seen built with a latch like that pop open with a spare on and on a bumpy gravel rd.

looks pretty nice - especially for that price.

Not sure on the seller's feedback. Sounds a bit sketchy with the name switch and negative feedback found (per you btw - thanks!) from others seen via search.

Glad it worked out for you and great looking truck!

don't mean to be a Donny-Downer

....ok, bad joke based on the SNL Debbie downer...

bumper looks great - love the integrated hitch!!!

BUT...after dragging my bumper all over Moab for the last couple years, those recovery point look like they hinder the departure angle.

Got the spare mounted up. Looks too good. Let me know what you think.

TAG Service

I found TAG back in April and after excellent help over the phone I ordered custom front and rear bumpers for my FJ80. That's where my excitement and their customer service went way South. I was told by Kyle 6 weeks. 7 weeks later I was told 1 1/2- 2 weeks, same thing at 9 weeks and guess what at 12 weeks (3 months). I never expected them to be exact on timing but to double it and still say it will be longer with never once an appology or concern that I was frustrated with their timeframe. I even mentioned this on two seperate occasions and Kyle was even more of an unplesant person. "I'm not any good at fortune telling" "If I find a company that sales better customer service I'll buy some" his comments to me. I run a company myself and this attitude would put me out of buisness quickly. Now he says he will make a note in my file that I'm a jerk customer, hinting at hindering production even further. Watch out for this company and unless you just have time to wait and not think about your money being tied up for who knows how long than maybe just maybe you should order from them. If I ever recieve my bumpers I will post an update with pics.

$1800 and some change for both bumpers and a custom skid plate for my Tundra. Only thing is he charged my credit card July 3rd and still no end in site. I've been told it goes to production, then to assembly, then to paint, then to shipping etc. etc.

Finally got my bumpers after 3 1/2 months and got them installed.

The goods: Nicely made and very heavy duty. Hug the lines of my cruiser great. The spare tire arm seems to be mounted on a trailer spindle with bearings and even comes all greased up for assembly. Winch mounted into existing mount perfectly.

Bads: These are custom bumpers for my vehicle but do not come ready to mount, they have to be customized even more to mount. 2.5 hours of fabrication to create useable mounts on the front and 2.5 hours cutting out my rear crossmember and 4" of frame rail to make the rear bumper fit and then it has to be welded into place to form the new rear crossmember. 1 more hour to mount winch and bumpers. Long wait and owner has an aweful attitude. Oh, and he forgot to send my custom skid plate for my tundra and left off my extra jerry can mount. He said he will send me both, so I guess I can wed on a jerry can mount too.

Bottom line I like the finished product and saved a lot of money vs. Arb, Slee, etc. You can add as many extras as you want for next to nothin. If you have the necessary skill, or a shop that can handle the fabrication/welding and quite a bit of patience you might like them too. I'm just not sure he's gonna get my buisness anymore.

I'm sorry but that bumper and the customer service looks terrible.

For the time it took and what he charged, I would expect higher recovery points, a hitch that was sucked in a bit more and a dual swing out.

Also, do anything with big drops and you're going to hate that low mounted cooler carrier.

That latch and the metal (rusty) pad it rides on are a joke, that needs a safer latch.

Sorry to sound like a dick, but this company should not be in business. If you're ever in Utah hit me up and I'll fix that latch system for free.

its sad this guy/co. obviously has some fabrication talent but due to bad attitude and worse customer service will never make it big like they very well could.

Hmmm, that's right down the road from me. Might have to swing by and check out their operation.

Looking at the web site there has to be some slack cut here somewhere. First off Business is made up of three things. Price,Quality and Service to be a sucess you have to pick two. I'm guessing they are building a bumper for REALLY CHEAP and the service they are not worried about. the prices they have advertised are so low I can't imagine they can make a profit. Scrap is running almost $300 a ton and yet they are charging $475 for a complete bumper? I'm not defending them by any stretch in fact I think the bumpers are ugly just not my asthetic but that's neither here nor there. I just think there always needs to be some looking at the bigger picture.

That 80 series bumper look alright...
Unfortunately the 60 series rear bumper does not....

It is true what it is said...

"You get what you pay for"
