The RHD 80 is clean and all there. Not locked but does have rear A/C and the cooled center console. Not rusted like some of the trucks that come out of Japan. The seats have a slip on black cover but underneath the original seat material doesn’t appear to be in bad shape. Has adjustable shocks as well as variable gear ratio steering. A few bumps here and there but overall it’s in good shape. Sits on 37” KO2’s with a wheel I’m not familiar with. Could use a knuckle rebuild as the inner axle on the left side appears to be leaking. If anyone is interested in it let me know and I can have it brought to 49Tire for a complete inspection.
I went by and looked at it also, It's got a fresh paint job on it so I wouldn't say it doesn't have rust (maybe covered up), I've gone by Gowdy a few times and have also seen some horrendous vehicles that I would be ashamed to sell to someone as a dealer... I've seen quite a few "lipsticked pigs" go through there and that 80 has damage on some corners, missing rear quarter trim, quite a bit off being "clean" and worth what he's asking IMO even if it is an "oddball"
I'm not trying to bash the guy but I'd never send a friend to buy a vehicle there... He admitted to buying auction vehicles out of state sight unseen based solely on price.

Respray is obvious in pictures and didn’t feel the need to add it to the list as it is a 27 year old truck. Frame, axles, suspension etc will show rust damage before rust through on sheet metal occurs and the frame is clean on that one. Bumps, bruises, scratches, minor dents are all par for the course on a used vehicle that has changed hands god only know how many times. Anyone in the market knows the price is way off including the owner of the car lot and I never stated it was worth the asking price. In my opinion it has done exactly what he wanted it to do and that is getting people talking.

I was in the used car business for many years and for one to think that every vehicle on a used car lot is hand picked, clean, local trades is silly at best. To maintain inventory of 75 units it took 2 of us going to 5 auctions a week to “hand pick” vehicles. Even then when used cars where plentiful we would use online auctions such as Mannheim, OVE etc to fill in the gaps. Regardless on whether an auction pick up was in person or online if a vehicle failed the Post Sale inspection it never made it to the lot. Keep in mind these are used vehicles and picking them a part is easy to do. The condition of that particular RHD, 1fz powered, repainted, overpriced, used Land Cruiser is average for a vehicle of that age.

I bought some 2.5* Dobinsons caster bushings for my 80. These guys are rubber and supposedly last like OEM rubber ones.

Being a tool nut I decided to order up some bushing press tools and just do them in my shop. I’ve never done them before. Figured how hard can it be?

Anyway. What started as a 2 hour job ended up taking most of the day. I had no idea my little 12 ton cheap press would not be enough.

What a joke.

I called a friend who has all the big tools and he has a 30 ton press that barely got them out.

Then I discovered my tool was the same size as the bushing and not a few thousands smaller so after I used it for the first bushing I had a solid block of steel tightly wedged into my control arm.

Long story short. Drop them off and let Rob do them at 49 Tire.

I experience the same thing these days. Even the simplest, most routine jobs now seem to give me trouble. The hours turn into a day or more.

Maybe I just don't have the patience (motivation) I once had.

I’ve got 5 FZJ80 rims on tires for sale. Tires are decent but one has a sidewall patch so would run as a spare. 2 of the center caps were cut for manual hubs. Give me a shout if interested.
