Did a weekend road trip across the state and had Garrett install my tire carrier. Came home with a new set of rims to boot. Will post pics when I get the new tires mounted. When I sent payment he asked if mine was an LX because he had some additional instructions for installation, so he is definitely aware of the differences and seemed to have it sorted.

There’s been a couple installed on LX450s so far. One with trim removed completely…easy enough to fit. Another trimmed the cladding right as it wrapped around beneath the taillight giving space for the spindle housing. Other than the cladding, there’s a few other differences like the cross member cover that will need additional trimming for the latch catch.

No, I only trimmed the body cladding above the bumper.

I'm currently sold out of all swing outs. The first new batch so far has been great with a few things learned and improved upon in the process.

Question about the latch tension. I have one from the last batch (amazing). How much tension do I put on the latch? It kept popping off with what I thought was enough. So now I have enough tension on it that it puts a mild bend on the system but has not unlatched at all.
What say you?

It is a little tricky to describe since it’s very subjective and depending on how everyone’s spare tire weight affects the system. I like to set up the arm to have a small amount of float over the landing pad on the crossmember so when it’s loaded with the spare you don’t have to slightly lift up when closing. That said, I set my latch tightness to really clunk into position and it will flex the arm downward some to firmly hold it into position on the landing pad.
