The only thing that could keep my wife from the event this year is a newborn... and that's exactly what we're getting.

I hope to attend a day of trails and the potluck/raffle, but even if I miss that, I should have some FOBs to contribute to the raffle as well as a brand new cargo/storage system a buddy and I have been developing for over a year (soon to be launched for sale, woot!).

As always, thanks Stan and Chris for organizing everything!

Congrats on your baby....it sounds like we need a nursery at HIH so that we can accomodate everyone. Look forward to seeing your cargo/storage system, as well.

Thanks!

I'm keen, sounds like a great event. Better start getting the camping setup sorted out. Anyone else in Tucson thinking about heading up?

I am in Tempe and will be heading up the day before the event.

I think we have a few Arizona folks planning. Off the top of my head there are likely 5-7 or more. No better way to escape the heat of July.
Escaping the heat of AND humidity is a huge benefit from those of us coming the south!

Just google mapped this - 2,321 miles or 35 hours from home to Silverton, CO yikes! I really, really want to do this - just need to figure out the travel logistics to and from and to see if I can get enough time off. Can this drive be done in 3 days? Any suggestions as to where to stay over? Anyone from the Boston area or New England area going?

I did not see water or power hookups there last year.
That's what I was referring. No worries, still hoping to get a slot. The grounds and event sound fantastic. We have a 3 year old girl that loves xploring. And a 10 year old son that loves mountain biking. I know the ski lift is a stretch, if that happens the kids would never come off the slopes!!

For the past few years there has been a "southern 100's" club that usually meets up somewhere to roll. @ntsaint I think may be the ring leader? We will leave from Arkansas and take a couple days getting there.

Yep. He heads up the group. They usually spend the first night in Denton, Tx and then the second in ABQ.

I met up with the group in Denton. Nice bunch of folks.

I'm a little further south from you in the Mid-Atlantic, but I really want to make the trek out this year as well.

@cboyd Is in your area and we met up to convoy last year. 3 days is definitely doable averaging 800 per day.

Once registration is done we'll be working up a travel plan, you're welcome to join us. We had 5 rigs last year and it worked out great.

We didn't have as far to drive as you, but we saved money by staying at KOA's. Most of them have cabins for around $30 a night.

I'd love to make it. Let's hope my HughesNet is faster this year so I can make the cut off. If not, wave to the 100 whose not part of HIH ;)

Dude, that sucks if that's why you weren't able to go last year. Satellite internet sucks! I'm so determined, that I would drive into Starbucks, or McDonalds to make sure I got in!

Thanks for the invite - I'd love to join a caravan. How did you break up the trip last year?

I like KOA's - we've stayed in them before with the kids. I'll have to see if there are any on the route to CO?

Pending registration I plan to make the trek from Dallas. We will probably head out the week prior and take our time going and coming. Really looking forward to this event.

I met Bluecruiser last May at a gas station at Monticello helping my son moved from Tacoma to Dallas. You can immediately tell that he is a nice guy and he took his time to invite me to go to this spectacular event. We will be on vacation during registration time but will be online and hoping to get in.
