One of the annoying things about the 70 Series Land Cruiser is the factory armrest — it’s too low, flimsy, can’t really hold anything, and isn’t comfortable to lean on. On top of that, it’s made up of a million small parts and costs a fortune to replace.
I was curious about an aftermarket fridge-armrest combo that some dealers have been installing on newer 70s in recent years.
It comes in grey and beige plastic, with color and texture close to Toyota’s original interior. I couldn’t find many detailed photos, dimensions, or real reviews. It’s made in China and sold in different places — I got mine from Oman for around $400.
I ordered it, received it, and decided to share some pictures and notes. I’m planning to install it on my HZJ74 soft top. Build quality looks decent, fits well, and seems to bolt on in place of the original console.
The standard power connection is via the cigarette lighter, but I don’t like that setup — most dealers wired it for continuous power anyway. I plan to connect it through a dedicated switch on the dashboard, with an inline fuse and no lighter plug.
The fridge has two settings: +5°C and –5°C. Feels solid, works well as an armrest, and can hold about four 500 ml bottles or some ice cream. Seems like a good fit for a soft top setup. There’s also a USB port — useful for charging your phone.
Not an ad — just sharing some extra details in case others are curious about this product.
