76 FJ40 Parking Brake Adj - Throttle Sticking

Is there any association between the Parking Brake adjustment under the dash and the throttle sticking? I made a few turns to the parking brake adjustment on my stock 76 FJ40. Drove a few miles and when I shifted from 3rd to 4th I pushed in the clutch and the throttle stuck open. I pushed in the clutch again and stomped the throttle and it returned to normal as I approaced a red light. when stopped It seemed to idle a little faster but wasn't racing. I thought it was fine and as soon as I was in gear it stuck again. When I got back to the garage I looked under the dash to see if there was anything interfering and couldn't find anything. I sprayed some lubricant on the linkages and still no improvement. Last month I gave the carb a good cleaning so I'm a bit perplexed. Probably two separate issues but thought I would post.

cables

shouldnt be other than maybe the parking brake cable is laying over the throttle, hand throttle, or choke cables (or linkage) just follow the cable along and see if you find anything

what year is it do you have the belcrank and linkage or a cable?

check the linkage is not rubbing on something on the engine---like headers if you have them

do you have a hand throttle cable also on the dash?

is it all oem stuff?

I gave everything a good lube and it hasn't stuck since. I just thought it odd because it happened immeadiately after I adjusted the parking brake. Thanks for your comments.
