First post, longtime lurking.
Just want to say thanks to the guys that posted on this board about a 3fe changeover and FJ62 power steering . I could not have done this as easy as it turned out without reading through the threads .
Its a 76 FJ40 that I bought about 18 years ago , drove it around with the 2F for a while had overheating problems , replaced the 2F with a carbed 3F JDM engine and an H55 5 speed with a split transfer case . Then I tried making my own FI system with a mitsubishi computer, I even made my own intake manifold at one time. Learned alot but the vehicle was never reliable and the last day i drove it the computer fried and I left the vehicle parked for 10 years . Three weeks ago I saw a thread here about a 3FE changeover and I got the bug to try and do it all again . bought an 89 FJ62 roll-over and used the Engine, power steering ,brake booster from it . Had the gas tank and radiator rebuilt , bought some tires and it runs like it never did before . The power steering really makes it enjoyable to drive .
