74 fj40 wheel bearing nut size

I need to change a lug stud on the front and have to buy a socket and was wanting to know the size of the nut to get the hub off? Looks like maybe 2 inch but not sure because it should be metric

should be a 54mm... but if you are a tard like me you can use a hammer and a screw driver.. as it will not be on that tight. but again its the wrong way to do it, but will get the job done...

2 1/8 works too. Sears sell 'em.

I'm using a 2 3/32 spindle socket I got from O' Reillys Auto Parts (Formerly Checker Auto) Part # KDT 2430 $30 on my 74 with drum brakes right now. It's a bit big but it works just fine.

Isn't it drum brake 52mm, disc 54mm?

Just did the same thing today. Took the nut into northern tool. 2 1/8 fits best that was on the shelf. Do not by a regular socket.... Make sure you get a deep well. I speak from experience. Still had to tap nut#1 tight, nut #2, no problem...... Axle shaft gets in the way of regular socket..... Live and learn.
