im chasing down another no start issue. The last one was the orig ignition switch gone bad- and ive also replaced a condensor and coil recently and deleted/cleaned up some p.o. wiring.
I cant seem to locate my fsm and wondering if the 74 Cali specs were oddball ignitions? is this an ignitor? the plug looks pretty toasty and corroded. motor turns over and fires while holding key in start- but dies off and wont idle when key goes to run.

When you release the key from start to run, does it die immediately, or will it run with your foot on the throttle but die when you try to let it idle? If it’s the latter, it could be the Idle cutoff solenoid (on the carb) is bad or the wire to it got unplugged. When you turn the key to run, (not start) you should hear the solenoid click.

It would help to have some pics of the wiring to the coil, dizzy and starter.
