Door jambs 101?????

First test piece, bought a HF 36" 16g brake and it bucked under the sight of the 15" piece. Struggled to do it! Need a lot more bracing and maybe, will mess with this weekend. So I moved to building the home made one and beat out my first piece with a hammer and chisel.

1 more, the first lip is a little more than it should be, did not have it clamped securely enough. Thinking of build a press brake to press the profile, have a 20 ton press. Would be doing 20-22" long pieces, think it will do it?

20 ton? maybe.
some engineer would be able to tell you, that is what they are good for.

I will be following this. My son and I have been talking about doing the same thing. The only problem is he lives in Alabama and I live in Alaska. He is a paint and body tech. He does not think it will be too hard but then again he has a gift for it.

They are obviously much norrower, How many inches were you able to take out of the rear doors?

I took out right at 6" total, IIRC. Been way too busy with kids sports and work! Hoping to get some time in this summer.

My summer was crazy busy. just getting back into it myself. Any updates on yours?

Man I love it...keep it going would
Love to build one like this

Nice work mate, looking at doing a similar project soon. Quick question with the rear doors, how have you made them and do they still accept the original glass and winding mechanism?

I haven't made the doors yet, but I think I've got it worked out so they will retain the original hardware. However, the regulator will be reversed from drivers side to passenger side so the arm is oriented the right direction. Eliminating the wing window and adding a static window over the rear wheel well cut out.
