Upstate Cruisers is restoring a '72 FJ40 (manufactuted 11/71) for the son and father of a fallen soldier and we are in need of OEM front seats. https://forum.ih8mud.com/sc-upstate-cruisers/324116-hamom-father-soldier-killed-iraq.html

The rebuild is in January so we would like to get a set ASAP so we can restore them in advance. Would prefer that they be somewhere in the Southeast so that we can come pick them up.

Thanks for digging through your storage rooms . . .

or PM me.

David I have the front bench seat out of a 68 or 69 FJ40....... if you don't have to have the exact year. It should work regardless.

I would need a total resto. as the fabric and cushions consist of duck tape, but I promise you can't beat the price :grinpimp:

Thanks JP - - - hold on to them, but from what I read, '72 is a tough year for seats. (If they do fit I would gladly take them!) My understanding is that I need seats from vehicles manufactured between 9/71 and 9/72 as the holes don't match up. It was a transition year for the FJ40 . . . but, I have a Reagan Era '82 40, so my knowledge base is limited.:D

Sent a PM a few days ago. I have 1972 front seat (see pics through link in my signature). If you can find me two later model bucket seats in good condition, I'll trade.

That is what we are looking for, but as this is a charity build for a fallen soldier, I don't have two seats from a late model to trade. We have cruiser karma and good will by the bucket load though.

i have two front buckets from a 78 (i think) in need of restore. Would gladly donate (maybe to bphillips09 if he gives up his) if someone wanted to pay shipping. I'm in salt lake. Just a little short on cash right now or would pay to ship as well. Good luck it's great what your doing! hope i can help:cheers:

Thanks Hedonist! (Isn't that an ironic handle for someone hailing from Salt Lake City?)

Now that we have front seats on the table, what say you bphilips09 of Charleston?

I could meet you in Columbia (halfway from Asheville) and pick up the '72 front seat. We may even be able to find some one willing to handle the shipping on the bucket seats.

Then I need to adjourn to Salt Lake City immediately! If you could estimate shipping to Charleston this might aid us in raising the rest of the funds necessary. Still need to hear back from bPhillips as to whether less than perfect seats are acceptable.

I feel the good vibrations . . . Hedonist, could you PM him to see if this might work?

no problem! depending on how much it is i may be able to go half on shipping.
p.s. Salt lake city is the pleasure capitol of the world!!!!:hillbilly::lol::beer:

Get them boxed up and I can help with the shipping!

Ok, Mr. Philips, of the fair port City of Charleston, we now have seats and shipping to your door covered.:) You may want to get with Hedonist as to whether these are what you need. We will throw in one full bucket of cruiser karma and with Kurt from Cruiser Outfitters involved, we may even be able to throw a little red Utah sand in the box . . . . .

We could probably have a LowCountry member of UC at your door at any time to help "Mud Ship" them to the Upstate.:grinpimp: (Just don't let them in your home or anywhere near small animals or electrical appliances.)

Here is a link to our T-Shirt for this event. https://forum.ih8mud.com/clothing-c...iser-fallen-soldier-t-shirts.html#post5067164

Sent Hedonist a PM yesterday.

Good man Mr. Philips. Shane's upholstery kits are da bomb, and should sweeten the deal to a diabetic level . . . .

Hedonist, we need to narrow down what year seats you have, perhaps you could get up with Shane and see if he has kits that fit what you have.

Kurt and Shane, stand by as we bring this deal home.

If the deal goes through I can bring the seats up to the upstate (Greenwood) from Charleston at Christmas time.
