Tailgate glass and internals spoken for?
Rear driveshaft straight and good?
Transfer case shift knob?

Yes.
No.
No.

and it's probably worth asking if you have the rear driveshaft do you know if it's the same as one out of a 77?

That I can't answer.

Based on the condition of the fabbed trailer hitch and driveshaft, my suspicions are the tow truck driver lost the 71 on the way from Skeedee.

Will depict, just because, later today...I hope.

There are a ton of eBay ads for transfer case knobs. I think I paid $12-13 for a new OE one.

Delancy,
I am still in the market for tailgate innards. Side channel, bottom channel, wiring junction plate, safety switch, glass... I pretty much have the tailgate handle, linkage, and latch mechanism to the sides. I have no weatherstripping, and pretty much nothing that handles the glass other than the regulator. Thanks.

James,

I haven't forgotten about you, either.

I have the glass, know you need the guts to the gate, and I figured that installing the glass back in the gate, shipping the entire gate is a better means of ensuring that the glass makes it intact.

Here's the problem and why all tailgate related items have been delayed.

First, both Pig are at sheet metal shop which I can't just pull up to. Have to request access and numerous attempts have failed, due to schedule conflicts.

Second, the tailgate off this Pig that I had intended to send, I have to use on the 72, since the 72 gate was a later gate and had the split tail lights on each side of the tag, not the single lower tag light.

That threw the last plan to acquire awry, since body man misunderstood my request to pick up the 72 gate, him having the 71 gate pulled, instead.

Last, the crate that the NOS tailgate was shipped in was my plan for packaging. Turns out, the NOS gate is later than my 76, too, doesn't have the "Toyota" across the back, and I'm stumbling on wether to run it or sell it, therefore the entire plan was flawed at the onset.

Epic excuse to say, I haven't forgotten about.
