Is it an OE or rare rack? Just cool?

(No, I'm not trying to establish value with "rare" nomenclature. Think I've got my point across on this not being for profit)

Just curious, honestly, because it doesn't look like anything special, especially since a drill through attachment.

I'm going to need to round up some large boxes...

Well, I THOUGHT it looked cool until you mentioned drilling into the roof. I'm good-I'll just stick with my old Confer...thanks though!

It looks like a rack off an old Wagoneer now that I think about it. Not that there's anything wrong with that...

Agree on roof drilling being a deterrent.

Went to great lengths to weld the ~28 holes that remained after removing the PP80s rack

(welded 162 total holes after roof rack and body cladding removal. PITA. If I had to do over, I'd have replaced all door skins with an 80s....it just bought and 80)

and will never drill a hole in a Cruiser roof and I am more than capable of sealing, by profession.

Check this out. PO had PDR'd the roof after hail storm (common in these here parts of the country) and this was how the reattached after spinning the port installed nutserts.

Between the PP80 and Pig purchase, I've learned to treat an elderly seller the same as any other and to not trust them either.

Hey Pablo, sorry I dropped off there, the big 3-0 was this week and its been a bit crazy. So it looks like your rack is a clamp on style, is that right? Like the others, I don't want to do any drilling for a rack.

Happy Birthday mate!
Yes, it mounts on the rain gutters.

Well, at some point we all err, and I seem more prone to than most.

Waited on tow truck for two hours, then he's an hour behind me getting back to storage (only a 45 minute drive) and spewing hydraulic fluid from the control box through the drives of the facility.

Tried rolling back and bed locked....but without hydro pressure, the winch didn't, so first thing to contact was the hitch right on the concrete.

Got it off and got him gone, to avoid an Valdez-ish ecological disaster for customers to complain about, so only me and the boy to get it pushed into the bay.

Now, I pushed mine everywhere, no problem.

This one has some issues, probably wheel bearings(??) cause it doesn't like to roll.

Hour into it, finally get it lined up and ready for the sty gate, and a slight miscalculation (I couldn't see and Gage was on other side) and I drove the best DS front fender I've even seen....right into my door jamb.

Sick to my stomach....literally, but 102 after a 1/2" of rain can do it to anyone, I guess.

Anyhow, she's there and ready to inventory.

Hopefully body man can make it by tomorrow to see if there's anything he wants, but the DS fender won't be it, which sucks because I've been talking about it for a week.

Lots of goodies to pilfer through, including a new boat anchor F block, hopefully boxes of good signals, but the Pig not only came with the wasps nests, but the wasps still in it, so hoping the dousing will have ceased activity tomorrow to inspect.

May check the oil, put a battery in it and try to fire her up, for S&Gs.

Note to any future disassemblers....

Check everything for wasps.

Loaded up rear heater in FJC to disassemble and blast at same time as the one I purchased from camotubebender.

Few miles in, there's a couple of wasps in the FJC.

Seems I found their home....

Brake Clean is your friend - not the wasps friend!

How bad is the fender?

I went and looked this morning and wanted to cry.

I can't believe that I bent the best DS fender I had. Sucks and I'm sick over.

Will take pics after the bug bombs have done their job at eliminating wasps.

I hit it hard, very hard, at 5 am, so no other tenants were around, then opened up at 8 to let the fumes out, again a tenant consideration.

Nothing was flying, but it obviously didn't permeate the rear heater.

Alright, folks. Need some advice.

Is it going to be worth my time and investment in getting this F.5 running?

By appearances, since I lack the experience, the carb is jerry-rigged with a bent linkage wired to another, cables tied to.

I don't have any use for the engine, so there's little inherent value to fire, BUT I do not to trash it.

Anyone need an F.5?

A disassembled F?
