runs killer

I installed my newly rebuilt carb today.I also drained the fuel tank, and replaced all vacuum lines.Xed my fingers and she fired right up.No more hesitation and I can feel some extra power.I drove it half the day.Still need to dial it in,but the 55 is running pretty sweet.Next will be the PS install.Jumping in the Tacoma after driving the 55 half the day,was interesting.

Very nice work sir:beer: also I might add that the winch on the front of your pig is fantastic! if you get stuck that winch will get you out for sure!:p

Hey man, dont knock my little winch. Its fully functional w/ in cab controls. Not going to move the 55 anywhere, and it will sadly get replaced soon, but I have grown to like it.I cut my PS box mounting plate today.3/4" steel plate and then tapped for 1/2" grade 8 bolts.also picked up some Ford shock towers from the dealer. Now just needing the PS pump bracket from Marks off road.I guess im going to do this.A little intimidated, but thats how ya learn right.Tear down tomorrow.I have looked at every PS thread to help build confidence,so thanks to everyone at MUD.Here goes!

Yes i will use the 60 steering shaft, and mate it into the 55 u joint at the column. The shaft splines should be the same as the u joint.I will use a sag pump,so i can mount it under my stock air cleaner. Then move the alt. to the pass. side.Add a double pulley to the water pump. Will need a skinny pulley for the alt. and pump mount from Mark. For the steering I will use the 60 relay rod end mated to my stock 55 relay. Here is a pic of the parts I will be using.Any advise is much appreciated

removed all the old manual steering components, which really helps me understand how the old will be incorporated with the new.

set up the steering shaft, thinking I was all good, and noticed I had the same ends on the shaft and at the end of the column.Saw that Pablocruise had this same setup and just used the joint bolted with the u bolts for each end.(spline to spline)Was ready to cut one end and weld on the other half.Glad I have info that makes my life easier. Thanks Pablocruise,I've used alot of your info to get started on this conversion

got the box and shaft set in place. The spline to spline joint ended up not working,so i took a drive to Heber to get the right end off a 60 steering column, and picked up a sag pump. Thanks Jake for the hook up,and for letting me "crawl" around in Pigtown. Not clear what p/n's are Pablocruise, but would like to take your advise and use them. Thanks

I made my relay today.Didn't feel good about drilling my knuckle arm to receive a bigger TRE,so I mated my 55 to the 60.Reamed out the 60 to about 13/16 and shaved the 55 down to 3/4,slid together nicely with a 3" overlap.New TRE's have been ordered also.

Took the rig over to the neighborhood shop to have the mounting plate stick welded, didnt think my mig was enough for the 3/4 plate. The plate isnt going anywhere, but the welds were just OK.So I got it home, had to add a section of 3/4 so the shock mount would clear the box.Cut the top off the ford shock mount and will add a cap so I keep the top mounts the same both sides.Everything seems to fit nice.pump mount and pulley coming from Mark.getting closer

I had to find a happy median with the shock tower and the shock angles.Didnt want to angle the tower so much that it looked weird. All painted and assembled.Relay worked out perf.Im stoked!
