Option opportunity for Day 1 and Day 2:

Two of our long time HIH folks, an attendee and vendor have graciously offered to lead a couple of small groups on the Alpine Loop trail. @nakman @BJTLC100 are those guys.

We did not initially offer this as a trail as it quite a long day. Plan on 10 hours on the trail including a lunch stop. However, it's a nice, Colorado high mountain classic. Also, we have a couple of trails reaching max capacity so this would help on that front, as well.

We want to limit the Alpine Loop to 7-8 trucks max. It will be first come, first serve. Email me directly at chris@100sinthehills.com with your name and whether you want day 1 or day 2. I'll reply in a few days to let you know whether you got a spot.

Really looking forward to this. Almost have the logistics knocked out. This is one of the last steps. I know @paflytyer is cranking out email after email on many finishing touches that are going to make this year really special.

Thanks

chris

Better keep this as an option for next year!!!

Exactly my thoughts.

The addiction is real though. Just bought a winch today. But I'm doubtful I'll have time to install it prior to HIH. Possibly if I can get a friend to help.
Bring the winch to HIH and I bet you can get 10 guys to help. As long as you have something to mount it to. :)

In for a Day Tripper kit!

Email sent to you Chris.

@paflytyer couple things: I know you always have stuff delivered to your house for HIHs and that you are driving down early this year.
We will be in Fort Collins - 25th, Centenial on the 26th and drive down to Ouray early on the 27th.
Anything left you would want picked up for the event just let me know!

So, last night I was thinking about how we'll have close to 100 trucks strolling around in Silverton in a few weeks and possibly well above 200 people in camp!
I started attending HIHs in '13 and have met some great folks from around the country! That said, it will be very unlikely to match forum names to the vast majority of attendees given the group size and short time spent together!
I know, I know! Not everyone attending is on mud and some use different screen names for different on line sites like @Fishy and son on!
I don't like to walk around with a name tag on my chest but what if we put the tag on our vehicles like on the driver door by the mirror maybe and folks can easier identify the builds they've been following and finally meet the builders themselves!?!
Maybe you even find that one guy you been wanting to give a kick in the nuts but didn't know who he was!!!
Not obligatory of course but it could help bring down the "large size feeling" a bit!
I'll do it, will bring a stack of name tags and leave out for whoever feels like it. Anyone who don't want to or think it's dumb or rather stay in the shadows is totally fine too! No worries, you can't offend me, ha ha!

We decided to head out Friday (15th) night instead of sat morning, will make the longest leg easier if the little people are passed out!

Wish I could jump on the Alpine Loop but with small kids would be terrible!

I'm still getting some last things ready but won't have time for the emu wing :(

See you all soon!

I have an ARB bumper. I'll see my buddies at Rocky Mountain Overland tonight and see if anyone there has time. Otherwise, I'll bring tools and beer to HIH. Thanks for the suggestion.

Just sent you an email. I'd love to drive it either day. If it helps ease congestion on other trails, all the better.

Without ruining the surprise....... thanks a lot @Get outside .......

Everyone will have something that they'll wear during the event to identify who they are. A lot of planning went into this and IH8MUD's own @woody agreed to pick up the tab on these. Look in your registration bag for something cool. You do not need to bring your own name tags and neither do your passengers. We've already taken care of it with something very cool.

No more surprises to be ruined...... except seeing the HIH6 sticker which is incredible! And something else very cool that you'll see on your way to camp

Honestly, Chris and I have put more time, effort and thought into this event than any we have ever done. We talk 3 times a day to try and make sure every detail has been taken care of. We want you to arrive in Silverton and have nothing to do but mingle with new friends and enjoy the incredible scenery around you. We have used every dollar and then some to ensure this event is exactly what it should be...... a family-friendly gathering of folks who truly appreciate the outdoors, mountain scenery and the company of great people celebrating what we believe is still the best model Land Cruiser for cruising around in the hills.

Trust us...... HIH6 will eclipse the epic status. The weather has been great here on the Front Range, but it has rained a ton in the San Juan's. Maybe all the rain will have worked its way through by the time we get there? Wishful thinking..... bring a rain jacket just in case.

Camp will be pretty nuts on Thursday as everyone arrives and claims their spots. Please keep in mind that we are going to be packed at camp, be mindful of the area that you're occupying. We don't need to be door handle to door handle, but maybe keep your tent behind your vehicle and not alongside of it, maybe place your table near your tent and not 20 feet away. We have plenty of room, but we have plenty of 100s too.

Stan and Chris...with the number of people and more kids attending this years event this year...is there any interest in having one camp fire gathering that might be interested in "ghost stories" for the kids? 30+ years ago I was a camp counselor, and that was something we would do on some of our backpacking/horse back riding over nights. Any interest from the group of parents bring kids 4-12 years old, maybe Saturday night from 9-10 pm? Any other ghost story tellers out there? It's best done when there is at least 3-4 stories told by 2-3 people, just before they turn in for the night.

Thank you to everyone that has picked up an OLS first aid kit. Due to time constraints & other commitments I need to do a "last call"....at least for HIH logo'd kits delivered via paflyter shipping company.

Please let me know by 08:00 tomorrow morning if you want a HIH kit for the event. Otherwise I'll have to ship it to you post event.

Sorry guys, my bad! I'd should've known you two are getting much better at this!
I'm sure there's nothing else to be suggested that @bluecruiser and @paflytyer haven't thought of it already! See you guys there!

No worries Paulo.... I'm just giving you a hard time. See you in a few weeks! Safe travels on your way out here.

So close!! This will be a spot many of you will travel at HIH6. Note the puddles. Bring rain gear.

Just booked Tuesday and Wednesday night at the campground. I don't want to screw up the vision for how camp lays out, so Stan or Chris, please shoot me a PM if there is somewhere specific you'd prefer me to plant my flag.

I'll be putting the final touches on prep for HIH this weekend and also hopefully wiring my pop-up solar system if the charge controller shows up. Lots of wiring, cooking and finally spooling my winch. We leave Friday next week for the Rising Sun Ghost Town run, then to Curecanti/Cimarron Sun-Tues and then into Silverton.

If any Denver folks have interest, I'd host a little BBQ get together Sat or Sun evening this weekend. I know there's been some posts floating around about a get together, but haven't seen anything finalized and I won't have time to run any trails this weekend because of prep. Even if it's not a BBQ, maybe a few beers on the front porch. I'm in Central Denver.

^^ Those things are so cool. When my rattling 1/4 windows finally tick me off enough I'm gonna go for these bad boys.
