Don't hate because we were/are smart enough to know the good branch to join. ;)

Man, I have signed my life away to two different services now, 8 years to the Marine Corps and then 3 to the Army (reserve) after that....I am not the smarts. :bang: hahha

Oh well :)

Ok, time to get out of this place and into that crisp mountain air!
You got me beat.

About to make some ling cod fish tacos! Last ones I had in the fridge but will try to get out and catch some more (for the potluck) before we hit the road next Saturday! One week, here we go! :steer:

Unfortunately, you guys don't even know what warm feels like... :P

Last week the cruiser was showing 119F, but last year I got to experience this:

Let's just say I'll be so glad to be chilly up there!

Don't forget in Louisiana there's 100% humidity. Changes the game. :)

Who would be willing to let me use their grill on Saturday night so I'm not having to bring the large burner and pot for the low country boil, my propane stove for general cooking and a small grill for steaks.

I'm living this, as well. Hot just sucks. I'll take dry any day though. Bring on Silverton and the San Juans!!!!!

I'm bringing my smokey joe grill and I'm happy to share.

Plenty of room on our Snow Peak BBQ box as well. My little guy doesn't eat much steak, so I'll be cooking for one.

I've been in both horrible dry heat and horrible humid heat. Tucson felt like someone had a hair dryer blowing in my face, but at least you could dry off. Down here in Arkansas, the humidity is just depressing. I have reverse seasonal affect disorder. As Green Day says; "Wake me up, when September ends". I'm jealous of all you guys going this year. At least I can live it vicariously here!

Beat me to it.

I agree with you guys 100%. The heat is brutal and makes for an impressive show'n'tell when it gets above 110, but the humidity is what makes it uncomfortable. I'll take a dry 120 over a 90% humidity 95F any day.

Either way... the Rockies are going to feel amazing!
