Hey guys, I have spent way too much reading and searching for a straight answer. I have a 69 that I want to restore. I want to add disk brakes, so I would like to do an axle awap. I have seen answers for post 69 model yrs. Would those same recomendations apply to mine? Also, The PO seemed to have started a power steering conversion. I saw that becasue everyone that has power steering has the same set up I do, but, I have a manual steering box. It has a v8 conversion ( 350) with a chevy Tranny. Anyway, now that it has the scab plate, could I just get a saginaw and pump install that and have the power steering?

Thanks in advance..

If you want more than a maybe, you'll need to find a way to post a pic of what you've got on the truck.

Most of the Saginaw manual gearboxes only have three mounting holes, and many of their mounting plates do as well.

For Saginaw power, in an LC with 33" or bigger tires, I would want a mounting plate with all 4 holes, and a box to match.

I know that some have done more, with less. To that I say, just because you can, doesn't mean you should.

i put disk brakes on my wifes 69 using mini truck parts and they bolted on.i used 79 steering arms and kept the stock steering good luck

Ditto. I used mini-truck knuckles with LC vented rotors and V6 calipers on my 1969. In the tech section here at MUD are the directions you need.
