When I got this cruiser it had a homemade aux tank in it, but it wasn't functioning. I finally got around to cleaning it up and getting it working. Here are some pics of it.

I agree with you on both. If anyone has a crusty bezel lying around hit me up! ...
Think the bezel should be the off white, tannish one Mr. T paired with this and some other colors. People did so love to paint them white.. Check flip sides for original color and prepare to citrus strip.

Agreed, but that's the way it came. I do plan on taking if off and "patinaing" it some way or another. If I could find an old beat up one I'd trade for it.
 
For the purist out there, the bezel now has the proper shade of 012 paint.
Now you need to take a chain to it and wail on it. Give it a distressed look.
Kidding! Looks very nice.
