I've got a 1969 FJ40 for sale. Does not run. Restoration project or buy to part out. It sat from 1994 to this past April. It is fitted for a Ford 289 motor, which I have yet to pull.
Reason I'm selling: I currently have no place to store it and if I did I wouldn't have the money to restore it. My loss is definitely your gain. Its got a lot of sentimental value to me, but I gotta let it go. ;(
Asking 3k OBO, any questions, let me know.
Vehicle is located in San Bernardino, CA.
Have title in hand.

Hello! I am interested. If you would like you can shoot me a text at 5406766455. I’m currently on deployment but stationed at Pendleton, so if I don’t respond immediately it might be because I’m asleep

I reposted this to get more traffic, and had to up the price because I'm getting asked about it often off the site.

Getting "asked" about it and selling it are two completely different things. It's been listed here and CL for a bit. If it didn't sell at $3k I highly doubt you're gonna get $4k for it. It appears to have decent bones, but looks like it was rode hard and put away wet.

If you are serious about selling something it would help all parties involved if you did your homework and priced the item accordingly. I can't tell you how many times I've called about an item and the seller says I'm not too interested in selling it because of all the calls/traffic they're getting about it. My question to them/you is why did you even list it at the said price in the first place? Most sellers hate when flakey buyers call them wanting to sit around and kick the tires and tell them stories of the glory days and how you could find these for sale for $200 on the side of the road. Well, we hate flakey sellers who list an item for a price and change their mind because a bunch of people called regarding said item.

I have done my research and the price is OBO. The instrument cluster alone goes for $800 on some sites. If you're familiar with selling things then you know that you start high, end up at a compromise. The trolling does not help.

"Getting "asked" about it and selling it are two completely different things." - no s#!t.
"My question to them/you is why did you even list it at the said price in the first place? " - because it is posted in other areas of the web and Ive gotten offers for over 3k. I just happened to post here first, in an area that didnt get many views. Also posted here beccause it's a community of LanCruiser enthusiasts like me. I am NOT a flakey seller, just not going for the first offer I get. Like any other seller.

"so do everyone a favor go sit in your truck and kill yourself." - thanks. Real mature.

-It kinda seems like you are doing the opposite? Starting low and seeing how much interest you get, then continuing to raise the price until you don't get any interest? That is pretty troll, which makes your "trolling doesn't help" comment pretty ironic!

Anyways, GLWTS!

Im not sure how updating a previous post and putting it where it would get more traffic being "troll".
Yes, it was my first time posting here and my first time trying to sell my FJ and of course wanted to see what interest there would be. There was interest. Not sure I see whats wrong with that.

Market values change for certain seafoods, crab, mahi-mahi and such. It happens.

Putting your ad where it gets more traffic isn't the issue. The issue is that you started with a price of $3k and upped it to $4k without doing any thing to justify your price increase other than "I'm getting asked about it more than I thought". In your eyes there may be nothing wrong with that, but coming from someone who's sold quite a few vehicles, price increases usually are justified by things getting fixed or extra parts included which thus makes the car more valuable.

If it didn't sell at $3k, it's probably not going to sell at $4k, regardless of how many people are asking you about it. Sure, it's your ad and you can do whatever you want - but that's just bad business to raise your price just because it's more popular than you thought.

Just my .02.

Yes... If only there was a place where one could advertise something they wanted to sell and set some sort of "minimum" value they would like to get. Then others could make offers or "Bids" until a specified time at which if the highest "Bid" was over the "minimum" value then it would sell at that price.

Just a pipe dream I guess........

That'd be nice.
