Lol, Cruise Moab got those dirty. I cleaned it all before I went to Moab and pulled em. Hope they work out for you as well as they did for me!

Yo, wassup? Happy 2024!!

😂 nothing to brag about. 😢
been acquiring all the goodies necessary to install the LRA 29gal fuel tank. and make the fuel system mostly ready for a sniper EFI. Holley In-tank pump, all the fittings, regulator, in line filters, etc..
and rounded up as much info as people will share about where to drill into the tank to mount the pump without interfering with the internal baffles.

scored a Metal Tech Full Profile roll cage kit with all the extras off a guy mid-summer. install will happen after i get the tank in to assure clearances.

rebuilt a 3.4L and installed it into my Daughters 97 t4r. Did a bunch of upgrades to modernize it, like Bluetooth stereo, review camera, usb everywhere, etc.. Lift, bumper, lighting, .......

Rebuilt the front of my motorhome (D60 and all the linkage) and installed a lift😂.
so, been busy, just not giving theta 40 it's fair share of love.
Thats honestly where i wasted my summer months mostly. That and making sure i get out and enjoy this life.

Moderation.... trying to pace myself so these projects last me a lifetime.😎

exciting score (paid full pop but worth it!......hopeefully)
got in on the first round of Trimeki F SS headers. Nice welds, clean looking, and a flat flange. Looks good so far.
Might have to get tricky on clearances with the 68 F wide body intake runner, and will coincide with the conversion to floor shift trans. But its a piece of the story that adds up. Sometime soon i should....WILL... start building instead of just buying😭😂 I do drive it around a bitt though 🤙

Fine piece of work those headers are....

"Sometime soon i should....WILL... start building instead of just buying" I resemble this remark. I still cannot get over how good those TR's look on an old school 40.

WTF!!!!
I am an idiot. But i may as well share my idiocracy.

Fear not... i have not made any time to actually work on my 40! I do drive it around😂😂, and i definitely shop for it😬, actively hunt for sales or major deals new and barely used. Or so how i justify🤡

So.... for your shared addiction sufferage and enjoyment.....

here's the Holley 12-130 pump to go with my LRA underseat tank install, in prep for EFI---

rounding up beta...early F wide runner intake- this will require some clearance shaving of the runner to fit the header, hopefully all goes well and snugs up friendlystyle. Not mine- but an example of the shaving required to fit headers behind the wide runners.

then.... damn if Holley didn't just have a sale 🤬, which brings us up to date😂
Just plopped down, which i shouldn't have, for the Holley Sniper2300. Bought the black version cuz i read the gold and shiny styles have issue with the finish holding up over time. Though i will admit im a polished chrome kinda guy.... it just looks better and screams classic!

backordered so i won't see it till late July.. like it matters for my build😅😅

now i need more crap......

Redline or Mosley for the Sniper conversion goodies?? Or is there some other options?

BTW..... Spring 2024 in the Sierra is phenomenal so far!!!! Get out. Tioga Pass 120 thru Yosemite opens Monday. June 10.

I would highly recommend going with an areomotive pump. Every single holley pump I've installed has been LOUD. The aeromotives are much quieter. I hate my holley pump in the cab, it's all you can hear.

So hope you are mistaken about Holley😂

I actually picked one of these up a few months ago for a cant pass up price. I do hope its not loud, as it will be sitting directly under the passenger seat in the LRA tank, and hopefully works properly😅

Intank retrofit pump-
https://www.holley.com/products/fue...ies/in-tank_retrofit_fuel_module/parts/12-130 Has a hydromat, gets really good reviews?

Need to add proper evap/venting to keep the tank expansion/fumes outta the cabin.. evap separator and charcoal canister is what im told by Redline will do the trick.

I have:

Holley Diecast In-Tank Retrofit Fuel Pump Modules 12-137

in my OE '78 FJ40 tank and can't hear it at all. Super quiet.

I put a Walbro in tank pump in my Cruiser and it is VERY quiet. Note that my tank is under the rear.

Thanks guys!! Thats what i had found researching my options, but always a great thing to hear some '40 personal experiences. hope to be pleased with my decision😄

Been one hellova summer here in the Sierra. Perfect weather and we have dodged the Fire Season so far. Fall is definitely in the air with cooler temps, and Gold is now pouring out of the Mountains. Gorgeous.

Finally got shipment of my Sniper Kit, took all summer.... luckily im in NO rush😂

only thing i accomplished on the 40 was adding some non-toyota trim sealing to all three doors. WHOA, what a difference. pealed out all the old rubber seals and pressed in new edge trim with decent quality rubber seals (amazon special), totally sealed up my doors and significantly quieted down the rattle can effect. SOOO nice to drive now, bet the inside/outside temps may actually change the the heater is on this winter 😂😂

What seals did you buy and you have some pics of the install?

theyre pretty thick, i had a nice gap at top of side doors, it filled them nicely but the rear hatch closes very tight now and i likely could have installed a lesser "bulbed" gasket and it would close easier. It forms well around the non-90* corners and i cut the 90*s. It does grasp the door edges so that 1/4" trim lip shows on outside. I'll upload a pic of that later. CHEAP and EASY though

Thanks for that link, my 40 has something similar from who knows when. I’ve been meaning to find more but never taken the time to look.
