Hi everyone! New here to the Mud forgive me! Im in the home stretch of finishing @crustycruise LV build and I just wanted to see what luck everyone was having with oils.
What weights, brand, additives
Front/rear diffs, engine oil, 3 speed trans, T-case
Pretty sure I dont want to use synthetic for any of these, just good old non synthetic.

Let me know your thoughts!

Pics FYE !!!

I'd suggest a good break-in oil for the engine if this is the first fire up. I also don't see anything wrong with synthetics or blends for the trans/transfer case and rear ends, additives will enhance/extend parts life.

Using say Joe Gibbs (Driven Racing Oils) for break in, then maybe stick with his brand throughout the rest of the LV?

Gear Oils…..there is a substantial amount of info on the internet on GL-4 and GL-5 gear oils for older cars.

The biggie is that GL-5 may not or has a deteriorating effect on Copper/Brass (think synchro rings, bushings). GL-4 not so much. However, GL-4 is getting harder to come by.

I use GL-4 in all of my pre 1980 vehicle transmissions, and transfer cases.

Amazon or NAPA are your best bet.

Bee Good, nice rig by the way!

Rotella 15-40 for the motor. (or any high zinc oil)

Any 80-90 or 140 is fine for the rest of the parts.
no need to overthink fluids for these tractor parts.
