So I just got this 1967 FJ40 from my father, it’s got a Chevy 350 swap, original toyota 3 speed. does anybody have any ideas on how to go about fixing this Slave Cylinder issue from the PO? just replaced the Throw Out bearing because the previous one seized up. now when i go to put things back together again no matter what adjustment i make the bearing still spins against the clutch fingers. just looking for any advice so i don’t just run into the same issue.

1st picture- everything installed no pressure against the slave rod
(bearing spins freely as it should)
2nd picture- after pressure built up from pushing the clutch in
(bearing no longer spins freely)

Alternatively if I can’t get it to function properly with the Toyota fork and bearing what Chevy fork and Bearing can I use in place?

I usually deal with sbc/4 speeds. You 1st need to set pedal height, then pedal freeplay(when the slave starts moving) and finally adjust the rod. Make sure the piston is fully seated in the slave.

Will the fact that the slave rod is at a nasty angle mess things up still? Is it recommended to use a different fork or would the Toyota clutch fork be fine? I’ve adjusted the clutch pedal and slave cylinder and still can’t seem to get any free play out of the throw out bearing
