I'm rebuilding the Master Brake Cylinder and the new kit (SOR) has a couple of parts that are different than what came out of it. Can't find anything online as far as a parts breakdown that is showing these exact parts. Anybody out there with some info would be a life safer. I know, this should be a simple rebuild, but....
Thanks

If you posted a photo or two of the parts you are talking about it might be helpfull in sorting out your issue.

In both pictures the row with the black spring is the original and the row with the silver spring is new. The three parts that are confusing me are...From left to right: 1. Black rubber washer, 2. Black metal insert in upper row, 3. Black metal cap on the right side of the upper row black spring. (the silver cap on the bottom row has a much smaller hole.)
Hope this helps.

Perhaps the difference is tin cup vs plastic fluid reservoir.

Hmmm. Didn't think of that.
This is my first FJ40. What led me to think I needed to rebuild the M/C in the first place was when I installed all new brake cylinders and started to bleed the brakes. Each time I would pressure up the lines and open the petcock on a cylinder and then close it off I noticed the fluid would push back into the brake reservoir. I've never worked on a brake system with just a single bowl, but this didn't seem right to me. So, that's why I thought it needed to be rebuilt. Is this correct thinking or did I miss the mark?
