I tried searching and couldn't find a clear answer to what is undoubtedly a very dumb question; but here goes: I'm working on making new brake lines and cleaning up under the hood. At the master cylinder, do I run my new 10mm tube nuts directly into the MC or is there supposed to be a fitting that goes between the MC and the tube nut?

Here is an example that I stole off of Mud. What s the purpose of the fittings that I have circled in red?

If there is supposed to be a fitting, I'd appreciate it if someone would kindly tell me a part number/source.

Thanks!

I found this photo on City Racer's website for this Master Cylinder:

Looks like it is a direct fit.

Yes; if you're using the FZJ80 master, then the flare nuts and lines go directly into the master with no other fittings.

You probably already know that you'll need to make double flares in your lines to connect them to that master, using a tool like this: Amazon.com - https://www.amazon.com/Titan-Tools-51535-Double-Flaring/dp/B06XPRVCPV/ref=sr_1_13_sspa?sr=8-13-spons&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9tdGY

They're bushings to change from the threads in the master cylinder to the fittings on the lines. Toyota was apparently standardizing on brake line fittings and not master cylinders. I doubt you'll find them anywhere, but they'd be very easy to make.

Thank you very much for the confirmation.
Yes, I'm using double flares with stainless lines. It has been slow going. The firewall lines appear to be the biggest challenge. It would definately be a whole lot easier with the engine out. :)

The real purpose for those fittings is that they hold the internal residual valves in place for drum brakes. Nothing for you to worry about with your disc brake setup.
