So I did some searching and didn't find what I was looking for.

I have a 1984 FJ60, and I want power windows. Power locks would be nice as well but the windows are primary. I was thinking that possibly the "easiest" way to get these would be to put 62 doors on my 60. Has anyone does this? Or is it simply better to buy the power regulators and the proper electronics to do a swap in the 60's doors?

If anyone has other suggestions on how to go about this I am completely open to ideas!

Thanks in advance guys.

All you need to do is swap the door panels if you can find the same color match , what are your plans to power them direct to battery or splice into harness like the factory set up.

There's more to it than just swapping the door panels. mounting the drive motors, wiring etc....I would think I would run it through the fuse box for safety reasons.

Are the 60 doors the same as the 62's in that the mounts are already there for the motor? Much like how there was already a threaded hole on the C column for the 3 point seat belt.

Yes, the doors are all the same, the regulators will bolt right in, but wiring will be the biggest hurdle. We have in the past sold and installed regulators in to 60 doors.

How bad is the wiring? what are some of the obstacles that would be encountered?

Figuring out where the wires splice into the harness most harnesses depending on year have the plug connectors already there dangling and can be plug and play but I doubt you will have that with yours looking at the year.
Get a wiring schematic for your year and a later year 88/89 and go from there it may get confussing schematics are not in layman terms you usually need an electrical engineering degree to figure them out.

If you cheat, and don't install the main switch on the drivers door, and kill switch to disable passenger windows, then you can get away with running power to each door, then wiring in the switch from there. Pretty easy

If you want it factory, then you will have some work ahead of you.

Imho, do it right with all things functioning, but that's just me
