Left to do:
-Crossmember and trans mount
-Driveshafts
-Shorten tcase shift lever
-Mount slave and hook up clutch line/bleed master
-Bypass Neutral Safety Switch
-Hook up starter
-Exhaust/o2 sensors
-Drive dat bitch...

Next step after above - H55F, H55F, H55F :lol::lol::lol:

Yea I need to remount my console as well. I would like to get a Tuffy or s***tybilt to replace the stock one, but that's long down on the list.

Go cheap and put in a 50 cal. ammo can. That was my approach.

I really really want this thing gone. It always smells like gas in my truck when it sits.

Why do I still have it? It was relocated as per instructions when I did the Wagon Gear Panels.

So I got a good answer on this in the 60 section. Yes, I have to have it. My problem is likely that my charcoal canister is toast. The fix is to swap the lines (input and output) and it will stop the fumes from finding the weakest link which is my evaporator in the fender.

I also found a 90* at the charcoal canister that was rotten.

As for the brakes.....the dude I sold this to did the brakes right before he parked it so they are new.

The adjuster that the parking brake is attached to....on BOTH sides are/were frozen. I worked them loose as best I could and soaked them in penetrating oil. I hope the Parking brake works when I button it all back up.

For the parking brake......is the only adjustment at the handle?

And the adjuster screw on the shoes. If they were frozen the brake isn't going to work.

The adjuster on the shoes spun easily. I doused them with juice too.

You gotta keep them MF'ers tight. Mine quit self-adjusting and I'd have to redo them frequently.

Kinda sucks because the rear brakes rely on them being adjusted, not just e-braking.

There is a GM charcoal canister that is pretty cheap that would work if your old one is plugged up. People use them for the 80 series frequently.

So, I'm a drum brake tard.

The drums were hell to get off and hell to get back on.

Once on, do I do the screwdriver adjust through the backing plate until the shoes drag then back off a click or two?

Exactly, but they should have just a slight drag.

The drums come off easier if you loosen them up first (once unfrozen).

You probably won't ever have to adjust at the handle. In my case, adjusting just the shoes tightened up the handle (and firmed up the pedal.)

So, my Ebrake works now. Thanks for the tip. Still needs to be on the last click or so to hold the truck, but it is now functioning.

Do I need to use it more? Back up more? I remember that backing up set the brake or is that not right?

Are you doing a tcase rebuild soon?

If you are taking to me, this is a knuckle kit. I jacked up the front and I have some play in my hub. This is the kit with the trunion bearings and all the seals. I will pull down one knuckle and see if the bearings are good.

It needs discs too.......I think I had a set of discs I sold @MScruiser when I was cleaning out a pile. I will stop by Auto Bone in the am and get a set of discs.

This truck makes me want to drink for sure. I was better off just driving it and not trying to clean it up.....its a hot mess........

I think backing up is for domestic vehicles. Pulling the ebrake handle is supposed to do it. My auto-adjust thingies were frozen and didn't work, and I never looked into it.
