SILVER Star
I've had the Terrain Tamer parabolic springs in my HJ61 for probably 6 months now so I rekon I can do a bit of a review
They are super light. Way lighter than the old leaf packs. You probably shave off 20kg - 40kg.
They handle and feel incredible. It really does make the car feel like it is coil sprung. Completely eliminates the harsh jarring when hitting a pot hole.
Off road they are awesome. With tires down to 18 psi and the car fully loaded with camping gear they are at their best. Again it feels like coil springs. I have only used them on moderate to slightly difficult tracks so far, I havnt put them through anything extreme yet. They flex a lot better than the old springs.
I have zero sag unloaded or loaded. They maybe make the car a little bit bouncier unloaded. But again it is super soft and smooth so it isn't really noticeable.
I'm not sure if it's just a HJ61/Sahara thing but my Landcruiser also has these rubber pads in the rear. I've never seen them before on any other Landcruiser and when I ordered some from my local mechanic/Terrain Tamer dealer said he hadn't seen or heard of them either. They are on the Terrain Tamer website.
I was still able to buy genuine ones. Maybe check to see if yours has them before ordering. It paused my install for a week because I didn't want to put it all back together just to have to pull it apart again to put these in.
Overall I couldn't be happier. If you have old tired springs 100% swap them out with these.
I bought brand new old man Emu's for my BJ42 maybe 8 years ago. When I have some extra money floating about I'll be swapping them with parabolics.
I am in no way sponsored or own any sort of store!
