Just saw this post on EBay and wonder if anyone here in our club is familiar with the guy. Has a red 60 for sale (I'm not interested) and it's parked next to another red cruiser.

1986 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ60 | eBay

What caught my eye is that it has vent windows in the front- I have never seen a 60 series with these and I've owned a pile of 60 series trucks over the years. Comments?

I saw that one a few weeks ago.

Looks like he was feeling the waters and than relisted it with a buy it now higher than the previous high bid. I'm skeptical about his claims regarding the carburetor issue. His "mechanic" doesn't know anything about carburetors...

He parted out the other truck.

That's a $4k-4.5k cruiser

he has a collectors edition 80 series on craigslist for about a year now.
wants 6000 for it. it has 240,000 miles and the pictures make it look good.
i've heard you need to clean a crack pipe every now and again.

Someone will buy it and then learn how much they over spent.

Getting back to my question, though- has anyone ever seen a 60/62 series with opening vents front windows?

Never seen it Gary.

I might take a chance on this. I'm looking for another. But the 6k buy it now, is that the min? Because the bidding is at 2k. I think it's a 2500 to 3k truck.

The BIN price is what he’ll take to end the auction right now and hand it over to you. He has a reserve on it, but that could be anywhere from just above the current price to the $6 price. If you’re willing to pay $2K, put that in to see if it meets the reserve or not. If not, bump it up a couple hundred at a time until either the reserve is met or you aren’t willing to pay any more.

You can also email him throw eBay and he may tell you what the reserve is.

Buy a running truck.
If he has also been trying to sell an 80 for the past year, I doubt he’d sell this at a fair price.
