I'm about to start working on the interior of my 87' 60. I have already gutted the carpet and padding which were not salvageable due to ripping and staining. The floors are in amazing shape minus one minor rusted through hole on the passenger floorboards. That will definitely be addressed first. I have been shopping for carpet kits and was about to order the SOR carpet kit. It's a bit pricey considering what I want to do with the rig (overland). Has anyone ever had LineX or anything similar sprayed instead of carpet. I have read about horror stories of the liner being installed wrong and creating rust throughout. If done correctly, I'm thinking it will be easier to clean and more durable. Most likely a lot less comfortable on the feet. Any thoughts? Thanks.

I bought a 85 a few weeks ago that has no carpet and had some sort of truck coating everywhere. The truck is pretty loud. I have bought the carpet kit from dnp and some foam insulation/sound deadener to install. I haven’t installed yet, but I am hoping the combo will quiet down the interior. The initial impression of the carpet is that is looks very nice. I bought carpet kit and floor mats as well. Hoping to install next weekend. I think it depends on how you plan on using the 60 if you will like the line-x or not, I’ll just throw some rubber mats in for the deer lease or anything that may get the carpet dirty.

If you decide to get the SOR kit post up...would love to see the project. I have that on my todo list after I do something about my transmission (hopefully the H55). Anyway, I have looked at the SOR and it looks nice.

^^^Yeah, much better and less expensive options from the vendors here on Mud as opposed to SOR. I’d check them out first.

David (dnp) has what you need and it is a very well made product (very satisfied customer here). Much cheaper than $OR!!!

Thanks everyone! The DNP kit looks awesome! I will inquire. I was going to go with SOR kit because I have a pretty good size gift card but I can definitely use it on something else. I also just installed 80mil noico sound deadening on the wheel wells, inside quarter panels and inside of doors to reduce noise. I was planning to do the whole floor too but noticed it had factory sound deadening already. Is the stock stuff adequate or is it worth covering over it. The only down side is the stuff is really heavy. Thanks!

Trail Taylor has both carpet and vinyl in both brown and grey. I've been pleased with all of Jason's products I've purchased. The pictures of DNP's carpet look nice too but I haven't ordered from him. SOR tends to be pricey. Sometimes it's worth it, like the foam seat bottoms.

Using sound deadening on the wheel wells and trans hump is worth every penny. Some Mudders remove the OEM tar by freezing with dry ice and whacking it with a section of garden hose. It shatters loose. Some say it hides rust underneath. And it might, but I haven't seen it.

I did a double layer of Second Skin on the driver side of the hump and used foil covered heat insulation there and above the cat. I thought it was sufficient.

Are the SOR seat bottoms worth it. I still have good covers, but they could be refreshed. Easy to install? , big difference? How long have you had yours? Looking forward to the day I get to the carpet....DNP looks nice, but mine is too early. Will likely go with SOR's kit.

@John Staton @dnp has the early kit too. That's what mine is. I have heard $OR's bottom cushions are fantastic and worth the price.
