UPDATE: Since I am now stocking the same bulbs but with a different socket to fit the 80s Series, I thought I would go ahead and update this post.

5W CREE Q5 High Power reverse lights. This is a single LED, high powered bulb that is an order of magnitude brighter than the OEM halogen type. Makes backing up on the trail (or those long curvy driveways) 10X easier. These mount in the factory locations with no additional modifications necessary.

100 Series

Socket 7440/7443
330 Lumen
30-50K hr. lifespan

80 Series

$40 for a pair (2 bulbs) shipped to your door (in the US). I will consider shipping outside of the country on a case by case basis.

Note: Pictures do not do justice the the difference in light output. I posted comparison pictures because I knew they would be requested.

Install notes:

*Make sure to have someone with you who can put the vehicle in reverse as you test fit the bulbs as they are polarity sensitive.

5W CREE vs. OEM

Finally got my 100 back today after getting the 90K PM, 4.88s, F&R air lockers and an air compressor. Been a long 2 weeks without the Hundy...

Anyway, here is the comparison picture I promised. I re-installed the OEM backup bulb on the passenger side and ran the 5W CREE bulb on the driver's side. The difference is huge to the naked eye! I played with some exposure settings on my Android phone to try and get it as close to what you would see as possible. The pics show both bulbs so rest assured that there is no trickery taking place.

Here is a video of my truck showing the differences:

I'll take a set. I am not going through with the HID backup lights.

Stop on by Nick! Btw, does "Blinded By the Light" play in the first video? I had it working but then I got an email from Youtube saying that they blocked the audio b/c of DRM reasons. Funny thing is it still plays the song on my computer when I watch the video. I bet my PC cached it.

sound works on the PC version, mobile has no sound. When are you free so I can come get them?

If I can get a relay harness built I can put the HIDS somewhere else special.

Put me down, lets try and meet this week.

Thanks again for the LEDs and install. , I would highly recommend these for anyone looking to update those old lights. !!

Great finally meeting you. Love that blue color on your rig. 250 more miles and we are going wheelin'!

Sent from my superphone.

do youhave any pics looking backward where the lights shine to? ie. standing from the tailgate pointing backwards?

I took some on my camera phone but they did not come out due to exposure settings on phone. Look up 5w Cree on YouTube. There are tons of comparisons out there.

Maybe some of the guys who purchased these already might want to chime in. For me, it makes backing up on narrow trails, child's play. It is a huge difference in the amount of useable light pointing backwards.

I'm pretty sure I'll be ordering a set soon. :D Have you looked into the other exterior lights. I'm interested in replacing turn signals and brakes too.

I may do brakes but if I do turn signals, I'll end up having to sell load resistors and before you know it, I'll have to stock a greater number of items in inventory. I am trying to keep the number of parts down to a manageable level. I initially just wanted to provide "bang-for-the-buck" functional/useful parts.

Well if you do sell them. You have at least one buyer.

Thanks John, you'll be the 1st person I contact should I decide to do more exterior lights.

UPDATE:

Shipped a few more of these and there seems to be some interest fro the 1156 socket model for the 80 Series. I'll be ordering bulbs for the 80s tomorrow and should have them in about a week.
