They are, when I lived in CA I mostly wheeled in the desert, the air intake is “in” the rear quarter panel. But now that I’m in CO with river crossings and snowy wet roads. I want to move them (pumps) inside the rear quarter panel, where the intake is currently. It’s on the list.

That's my hang up. Out of NM - so mostly desert ops, but we get up into Colorado too much for me to not worry about deeper stream crossings occasionally. I'm thinking about putting the compressor in the driver side rear quarter panel and a tank in the place soon to be vacated by the spare tire.

I wanted the Wits End panel but was discouraged with all the bad reviews. So I’ve been wanting to make my own. I did see this and was kinda waiting.

Bad reviews, on the 1/4 panel mount or Joey and Absolute Wits End?

I have his 1/4 panel mount and it looks really clean. I am getting ready to install it in my 80 here soon.

Yes I waited forever for mine, a year to be exact. I never had a issue with his stuff or getting orders. Just sucks that he took full deposits on turbo kits he could not produce leading a company in ruins.

The “bad reviews” of him and lack of producing. I don’t mind waiting if I’m told up front. Then it’s my decision on if I want to place an order. Yah, don’t want to derail this post.

Would you be interested in tracing and measuring the panel for the post above?

Sent you a PM.

I run a york under hood belt driven set up.
No noise, and faster than everyone I wheel with. Stub outs front and rear and I can run an air tool for short bursts.
As far as exhaust goes I run a 4 x 4 labs rear bumper and I cut mine off just passed the rear axle and stubbed it down it never gets hit.

I run a York on my 40, they are great. I can rev up the engine and use an impact.

Keep ur eye on the oil in the compressor. They only hold about 6-8 oz of oil. To keep mine from building too much internal pressure, I drilled and tapped a vent into the second filler plug.

I did the same, I also have an oil catch on the out pressure hose. Helps me keep an eye on how low in oil the York is.

There used to be an electric version. They were pricy.

I went with 4x4labs rear bumper, Slee Shortbus front bumper and Slee slider steps...

10 years later, still the best looking bumper for the 80, IMO

Also had the rear at one point, but went with a DIY high clearance build years ago

Are those lights on your bumper and at the end cap of you frame? If yes, do you have any pics with them on? Good looking bumper.

Yeah I didn't like how the frame ends were exposed so I capped it off and added some generic LED trailer lights.
