Thanks! I must be missing something as I can not find anywhere that has the actual agenda.

Thanks! I must be missing something as I can not find anywhere that has the actual agenda.

We try to keep this event as laid back and loose as possible. There will be something put together shortly, but you can expect it to look something like this.

Thursday - Many people will arrive Thursday afternoon/night. Camps are set up, old friends are reacquainted, new friends are made.

Friday - Camp starts moving around 7-8'ish. Departing for trails around 9'ish. Back at camp in the afternoon. Pot Luck dinner around 5'ish, beer, raffle, kids running around, dogs are chasing each other, campfire, maybe some ladderball, football throwing, story telling.... until any timeish.

Saturday - pretty much the same, minus the potluck.

Sunday - Trails and then most folks head home. The Directors stay back to clean camp and make sure everything is in order and make sure everyone made it out safely.

We have been very busy finalizing some of the last few things. Plus, we all are involved in other projects and events right now. Jonathan is one of the Directors of the FJ Summit, which is a massive undertaking. The whole event will come together nicely with loose plans and a "no obligations" agenda. We don't want anyone to miss anything, but we don't want this to seem like the other large events with strict times and agendas. Once the trail list is generated and filled, then it will be easier to determine times to depart each day and expected returns. Each morning, the trail leader will stage somewhere in camp based on the trail they're leading and we'll walk around and let everyone know to "Line up behind (insert trail leader) for Black Bear Pass"

The trail list will begin soon, a shirt confirmation email is coming, a complete sponsor list is about to get posted here, on facebook and on the website. We will also open up a menu for additional shirt orders if anyone wants extras. That will be done in a day or two.

Stay tuned..... we're getting there.

Anyone happen to be coming from the Prescott Arizona area and want to deliver a teardrop trailer to the event for me?!

Right now we plan to head out a couple of days early to spend some time cruising trails in Wyoming, likely arriving Sunday/Monday. If anyone has some recommendations, or better yet, would like to join, let us know!

From there, we plan to hook up with the Denver crew starting Wednesday night, so we will stay tuned for times/destinations.

@fireball I think I remember seeing @NUKEM post that he was coming from Prescott.

Whether or not he wants to tow a trailer up is an entirely different question tho :)

Was talking to AT about a used teardrop. Shipping to PA is $1665! So that would buy a lot of beer or gas for @NUKEM! We're going to pass on it though, it's a decent deal but a little small to be ideal.

I could bring it for you if you end up working out a deal on another one.

Is there a place to find out the information on how to meet up with the Denver group? We will be in angelfire the days before and would like to do some overland in the rockies

Guys, FWIW it looks like we are going to head into Denver on Tuesday to meet up with the Denver crew heading down to Ouray. Then after the event we're going up to WY and then over to Badlands/Rushmore/Black Hills for a few days before returning back east.

The temps and conditions sound a lot more favorable in SD than Moab/Arches/San Rafeal Swell area! I know SD isn't exactly on the way home for you guys but if anyone wants to join us we'd love some company. Also any recommendations for that area would be awesome.

Was planning to leave Ouray on Sunday and take Rt 70 east and spend Sunday night in Georgetown/Guanella Pass area. Then Monday maybe a quick stop at Slee, then into Boulder for lunch (I helped name Half Fast Subs in the summer of 2001!) and then to Cheyenne for the evening. We'll then head over to SD for a few days at Rushmore/Black Hills/Badlands area. Any recommendations for those few days would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

The 4th Annual t-shirt is just being finished. Last year's shirts were VERY popular and there wasn't an extra to be found by Monday! Order yours before the event to ensure you get one! Plus, you can save a few dollars by ordering early as opposed to buying one at the event!

How did everyone's dogs fair last year at elevation? We have a Bulldog that resides at about 1,000ft above sea level. Leaning toward not taking him, but input is welcome since he's an awesome camp dog!

Dogs generally do very well at altitude, even the snub nosed breeds. My dog (a pointer) has climbed over 14,000 feet with me multiple times with no issues.

The problem for them is trying to stand in the back of the 100 while you're driving the trail. It can wear them out and that's when they get injured. Also, gear sliding around and falling on them is always a concern. I would at least talk to the vet, but I would bet he'd do fine.

Thanks Stan! He has spent probably 5 days on the trail before, so he gets the point to lay down now. If anyone has a vet recommendation for the area, that would be great to throw on our itinerary/contact list. Thanks!

Just so I'm clear if we specified extra shirts during registration and follow up email we are good right? No need to order more?

Correct, this is only for folks who wanted to add shirts to their order so we didn't have to do that through email.

Hey guys, I'm coming over from the DC area for HIH. Not sure if I'm up to a 30+ hour drive so I'm strongly considering shipping my Cruiser to Denver prior to the event and then shipping it back. Anyone have recommendations on an automobile transport company that's reliable so my Cruiser is there when I fly in that Thursday?

My experience with shipping cars has been the budget carriers that will get the job done for less than $1000 give a 1 week window for delivery. Unless you can talk someone into taking delivery that may be tough.
