After a lot of reservation, I've decided to post this. Sales on parts this year have dropped about 70% in comparison to the last five years so unless
this economy completely turns around, I'll be shutting down parts production. I have inventory I'll work through and continue with shop projects for a while
but at 64 y/o, I don't have the years to wait out a 2008 like crash. That one took 5 years to show improvement. I've always built parts that I felt would
improve the off road experience but times are changing and most 40s aren't seeing the use they were made for anymore.
To keep prices reasonable you have to build in numbers and the numbers are no longer there. I'll keep email open and reply to inquiries.
The 40 and 60 carriers will be the last to go off line. I may reinvest in more u-bolt flip kits. That is undecided at the moment.

Thanks for your past support
Dave

I just placed my tire carrier order.
Sorry to see you might have to go.

I thought I could wait out this lag. last five years were so busy I hired another employee and brought in new cnc brake because our outside vendors had already
started having issues with staying open. Since then two laser cutters have gone under. One of them, Wasatch Laser was also working with Jason "trail tailor" for a
while. I worked through Christmas to catch up with last years orders. January rolled around and sales disappeared. Monthly, it continued to decline.
I did look at a credit line and one of the questions when I said i built automotive parts, was " do you do any electric vehicles?".
I guess that's a shoe in for unlimited money. I sarcastically explained there were no charging stations on the Alpine loop or White Rim trail

I'm sorry to hear about this. I was planning on ordering a tire carrier down the road when my budget allows.
Unfortunately, a lot of budgets will get tighter before looser but the carriers will be the last to go. I realize that there's not many options other than ours.
I may be a little slower getting them out. I always tried for a week turnaround but I'm old now and everything works slower if at all .

Love my 4Plus tire carrier, hope things turn around @lcwizard.

Me too; my rear carriers and front 8274 winch bumper that you made are the most solid, long lasting and dependable pieces of kit that I've ever added to my 40. Still solid and rust-free 12 years (at least?) later. Hope things turn around for you Dave, but if not I understand (67 years old myself).

@lcwizard Dave, sent you a PM about a swingarm/cooler carrier for my 40.

I looked for a link and gave up - so I guessed 4plusproducts.com. and got lucky. Then I tried to mouse click on the FJ40 links - nope had to use the touch screen to see the stuff.

Hope things change for the good for you soon. 67 now, was nearly dead at 55 - time isn't on our side anymore.

You make some outstanding equipment .I am very happy with your rear tire carrier and u bolt flip kits. I hope to buy a set of the rocker guards before you pull the plug but no matter what THANK YOU for all you have done over the years to keep the cruiser community up and running.

Any paragraph with "brewing" and "buzz" is always worth a listen

I guess I need to prioritize my purchase sooner than later. I definitely want your Products on my 40.

Hate to see you go, definitely that point in life where some greats are starting to look at different avenues of life though. Hopefully some of us younger guys can step in and start filling some shoes.

Out of curiosity, was that the Wasatch Laser here in SLC? I hadn’t heard they closed. Wild.

Very sorry to hear you‘re closing down. The economy is very weird right now and it’s scary to think what could happen in the next 2-3 years.

Very unfortunate Dave, you were always very pleasant and extremely patient to deal with. I'll always appreciate your willingness to see a job to completion. You are a true innovator among the Land Cruiser community.

Dave,

I've been a long time fan of your products. For years I've seen them on Man-A-Fre... and lusted after them. (I do have one of your tire carriers.)

It's one thing to have design foresight and skill. It's another to have fabrication skill, And yet a third quality is having the dedication to producing only quality workmanship. The thing is, you have all three... and that's rare.

I literally dream of having your talent and skill. But then I wake up, and it's back to reality: I'm solidly mediocre.

I wish you all the best in your future. You've been a great asset to the Land Cruiser community and all of us appreciate you!

Good Luck, Sir!
