I hope its not too much to ask but I'd really like to copy your AC setup and was wondering if you could expand on this anymore. I see the part numbers for the two fittings on the compressor as well as the adapter for the firewall. Is there a part number for the crimp 90 that threads to that? How would I go about getting a straight fitting. #10 7/8 - 14 female oring but the hose side would be a what?

What did you do about the fitting at the condensor? Is that the one you're referring to having a compression fitting?

As far as hoses go... do I just go down to a hyd shop and have them crimp these?

When I did the swap I took the cummins and toyota lines down to a hyd shop and they just crimped stuff together but I was left with no schrader valves, which was fine as I only did it to seal up the system.

What did you do for oil amount and charge amount?

I'd really appreciate any help. If these seem like dumb questions, I'm sure they are and I apologize.

Hey I am not trying to high jack, your thread, but @maxamillion2345 , here is what I use on my 6BT swap, you just use the stock hoses and manifold

Rolled over the 1/4 million mile mark today. Next on the list is fitting a 6.0 power stroke intercooler and putting some good shroud in around the system. Had some warm running conditions pulling the loaded trailer over the passes and believe the shroud in is my issue. Which I assumed would be an issue and just ran out of time before the trip.

Well due to circumstances out of my control. The 6.0 intercooler trial has started and another head gasket... I've run hot a few times pulling big loads 10k+;over 4 passes in CO. I stopped once to let it cool down but should have more gauge mods in the near future. Then got a pin hole leak in a heater hose and got low on fluid. After finding and fixing I've been blowing coolent through the over flow. Compression good coolent test did not show blown no oil in coolent or vs versa but as soon as I push boost im blowing coolent like crazy and get a miss around 30 psi. So new head, preps for twin turbo, and new intercooler are in the works.

Well that blows... . What are you going to use for the twins? I’m down in Wichita, if you decide to sell the Super, let me know. I may be interested. I’m getting more and more parts gathered up for my swap. Hoping for start by summer!

your telling me... i'll keep that in mind on the super hx30. i really don't think its worth much. since i run an external wastegate i sold the internal and I had a bearing go bad and the compressor wheel has had contact with the housing. i cleaned up the wheel and a new bearing without balancing and have been running it for 5k + miles but its still not a clean turbo in my book. it's worth more to me keeping as a spare than it's street value. that will really come as i get the twins in and see how they work.

have had house projects pushing in front of cruiser the last few weeks hope that changes in the near future.

Gotcha. If it’s not 100%, you’d probably be good to use it in a compound? Either way, I’m excited to see how this goes. Been following closely. 4bd2t, A442 for me so your build had given me lots of info!

Glad to hear. I've got a 40mm hx30 I'm going to use with the twins. After running the 40, 44, and 46mm versions I want thr instant spool of the 40 with the bigger boost of the 46 and beyond what it has to offer. I run my 4bt up to 3200rpm with full fuel(3800 gov spring trans tuning shift at 3200 max) and in my opinion the hx30 46mm is working to hard. To much heat even with 30psi wastegate.

Interesting. I’ve been strongly leaning toward the Super, but maybe I’ll have to look into duals as well. That’s all down the road though. My uncle has a 1950 M37 with 4bd2t, 700r4, np208, 4.10 Dana 60’s and 37” H1 tires. He’s just getting it up and running. His RPM’s are so low I think he’ll be good with the stock wastegated turbo running a 23psi wastegate. We’ll see!

Long 2 months with some life changes thrown in the mix that have slowed me down a bit. New head gasket in and torqued mounts almost done for the 6.0 intercooler lots of rust in my inner fenders. 1" +body lift is the only thing letting me fit it. Battery will be relocated. Stock box will not work due to the size. Inner fenders due not need to be cut but mine are cut up due to rust.

At this time twins will not be going in and that portion is on the back burner unfortunately.

Is it not having the room for twins, or not having the time/circumstances right now?

Pics or it isn’t happening right. New battery tray and redoing all my relays and 12v power take offs since the battery has to move

Looks sweet! I would just take a grinder/saw to that rust and rattle can it, no biggie. You must be a pro at doing the HG now! That sucks that a hole in the heater hose caused the HG to blow. You really need to get a mechanical or digital gauge for the engine temp so you can see it getting hot. We all know about the factory 'dead spot.'

What kind of fan do you have? My engine ran cool until I installed my intercooler, then it ran hotter....Then after that I installed a massive tranny cooler between those and it ran even hotter. I had to upgrade from a single to a dual electric fans to keep it cool. That 6.0 intercooler will be great for EGTs, but its going to be dumping all the heat in front of your radiator. I think it will probably run consistently hotter engine temps so be sure to keep an eye on it!

@cjmoon and @mjosoba I am from Emporia, went to KU, and lived in KC for a bit.

I’m running electric fans. 3 if them. But my control quit so I’m going back to always on or off with a switch. Adding aftermarket sender and attachments my it to my trans temp with multi position switch so I can toggle back and forth. With out having to many gauges everywhere.

I’m running two fans which rarely even turn on. They turn on at 195. Also running the 180 thermostat I believe.

Up and running dual batteries but need to do some wiring clean up. And add an isolater and cheap starting solenoid to combine for cold start and short quick joints.

It’s either the intercooler or the new high volume low pressure piston pump from hungry diesel, but it seems to be running very well right now
