Nice Job on the re-do of the sliders!!!

I wish I had a friend like that!

Also, I think You can install a certain OME part number rear shock that will give you more flex/droop in the rear axle with your lift.

I have an OME medium 2.5 lift but I need to crank my front OME torsions up, because it is definitely stink-bugging !!!

I also need to upgrade to bigger tires to make it look right, just trying not to do it too early before I get the rest of the life out of my current tires.....

I am in Lakewood, BTW.

I've got an ARB Sahara winch bumper inbound, got a great deal on eBay. Now if I can only shoe horn a Warn M12000 into it, I'll be all set.

Gotta start selling off a few toys to buy the OME 2.5" Heavy Kit. Probably need that on to add the bumper and winch up front. Thoughts?

So rewind to last month and I am camping with a good friend and my 2 and 6 year old boys. Long story short, my 2 year old has a blow out in his diaper (at the time he was 90% potty trained, only needs a diaper at night). He wakes up and declares "Daddy, I gotta' go poo poo!" I sprang out of my sleeping bag and start diggin him out of his sleeping bag when he lets the poo fly! It was a total blow-out... poo up to his nipples, up his back and down to his knees... all a considerable distance from their point of origin... inside a diaper. Well, dad forgot the wipes so here we are on the tailgate of the 100, using a Nalgene of creek water and paper towels to clean my little man up. He was miserable, I wasn't exactly enjoying my wake up call either. All said and done, a better source for cleaning up, kids, feet, gear, my beautiful wife's hair... was on short order. Let the research begin.

A few weeks ago as I was looking up water tanks and shower options for the cruiser I came across the Road Shower 2. It is an extruded aluminum tank that stores water on the roof rack and then uses passive solar radiation to heat the water throughout the day. Its got a temp gauge, radiator cap for filling and to control pressure (18 psi max), an air valve to pressurize the tank and a hose/nozzle that has about 5' reach. It mounts with hardware using an integrated "T" slot on the bottom. Overall, its VERY well made and quite light for its size. It holds about 5 gallons of water, and my initial testing in the backyard yielded about 10 minutes of constant water flow with good pressure. It would obviously run out fast or last longer depending on the flow rate selected at the adjustable nozzle, but a HOT 10 minute shower isn't out of the question for this shower unit.

So far, in my humble testing, letting the tank sit in the backyard with direct sun on it for about 4 hours (Noon-4pm) with 85* ambient temps I was hitting right at 100* at the nozzle. Even at 9pm that night the water was still relatively warm (closer to 90*) and I started with cold tap water out of the faucet. Needless to say I am impressed and my wife is stoked about it! There's something about the idea of washing down after a day in Moab's silt, or Colorado's dusty trails that is really appealing.

I hope to add a shower mat, and maybe even one of those self erecting port a potty shower tent thingy's... suggestions on one?

Getting my front windows tinted this afternoon I thought I'd throw up a before shot. I went in on the tint that is being sold by ScottyD here on Mud. I called every shop here in Denver and they confirmed you'd have to buy the whole roll for them to do it. So, I think ScottyD is giving everyone a great deal at the price he's offering shipped.

Viper Ceramic 30%

It is Viper Bronze 30% tint. It should be spot on.

Got it slapped on today... looks fantastic!

I love the shower! I can empathize with you on the "blowout" when camping with the littles as I have a 2yr and 4yr old.

Nice work and nice build you have going!

Got the big one... Warn M12000. Now to make it fit. Found it on Craigslist from a guy who had it mounted to a company truck. He said the wire was never unspooled, and from the looks of the winch I believe him. I got an extra remote which will make for an easier in cab controller when the time comes to wire it up.

Now to modify the ARB Sahara bar to fit it!

140# of man jewelry! I wonder how much weight I can take off with the cable alone by swapping to synthetic?

I have the same winch... IIRC, the existing cable was ~32lbs with the hook. Plus the weight of the roller fairlead.

That winch is a beast! Congrats on the CL score. Looking foward to seeing the winch/bumper combo.

I just a put a 9500lbs winch in my ARB and if the Sahara bar is anything like the Combo bar there should be plenty of room for the big winch.

Interested to see if you can make this winch fit... I'm optimistic that you will, but I've not seen an M12000 fit into a 100-series sahara. I've got an Engo 12000, but it is smaller

Great build! Road shower will be clutch when out and about!

Ohhh whats in the box.... looks bumper sized....

Yup, an ARB Sahara Bar, bought it off eBay from a nice guy in Wisconsin, seems to be an older version with the info from the ARB Part #, it should arrive tomorrow :bounce:

Thank you Hoser, that is what I am looking for. For that amount of weight I'll run the cable till it is out of life. I appreciate the real world info man, I have searched high and low and couldn't get an estimate of the weight of the line.

Time will tell. The new Sahara bars don't specifically say they can fit the m12000 but ARB does say it will fit the Warn 8000 and 9000 series winches. However, this bar is older and it did fit the Warn m10000 which has the same bolt pattern as the M12000.

I am curious too. However, everything will fit if I am willing to cut and weld and repaint ;)

Something to think about.... the M12000 is designed to be used 'feet forward.' The Sahara has a winch cradle has no vertical mounting surface and is designed for a 'feet down' mounting. Mod the cradle? :meh:

This thread gives me hope.

Color Matched Sahara w/lights & M12,000

And I'm not above making a cut here and weld there to make the winch and bumper play together.

Dang Drew you're really getting after it! Looking sweet, man!

Thanks Tim, I fell into a few good deals and I had some motivation after wheeling and camping with the family late summer, the 100 is an awesome ride. I'm just waiting on my first ride in YOUR 200 ;)

Snuck a little time on the cruiser and Installed a set of new gas hood struts... if you are waiting, don't. Best $30 bucks spent on the 100 yet. Makes working under the hood so much easier than the broom handle I was using ;)

Up next, ARB Bumper, Winch, Off road lights. Just needing a warm day to line up with my day off.

So we battled the Warn m12000 winch today as a friend and I installed the ARB and lost. Without major cutting and welding and re-fabbing the entire winch cradle its not bolting up for me. I'm gonna let it ride a week and see if I want to cut and chop or fit up a 9000# winch and synthetic line instead. Should be easy enough to find someone to trade.

The ARB looks killer, went on without a hitch and I just need to tidy up the wiring for the Hella 4000's and turn signals.

I finally had the stars align and got a day off, a warm day, and a friend who could help and got to mount up my ARB Sahara Bumper. I got it off of eBay from a fella who had it sitting for the past 15 years or so. It is an older part number than what ARB is offering now so please don't think the new bars and mounts are the same as this one. Everything went pretty smooth sans winch installation and I had a dead IPF fog light bulb that isn't lighting up.

First up, remove the old bumper, and grill for access, then you remove the actual steel bumper and foam spacer. This took about 15 minutes tops. There is really very few things holding it together.

Before.

Remove the grill and plastic bumper cover.
IMG_0517.JPG

Steel bumper removed and pulling the shipping container tie down points. I will likely add beefy tie down points to the front as the ones I previously installed are not compatible with this ARB bumper. For now I will move the front tow point to the rear and figure out an option for the front. I picked up a manual mill recently and new recovery points may very well be my first project.
IMG_0518.JPG

The left overs, by adding the ARB I am certainly bolting up a significant more amount of weight. I'd guess there's an easy 100# difference between the factory stuff and the ARB Sahara but I am just guessing.
IMG_0520.JPG

The approach angle looks amazing without anything hanging off the front! :D I know the ARB sticks way out, more than most rock crawling bumpers but the front end protection (buffer for the cooling system) against animal strikes and the ease of fitting a winch in the bumper were two things high on my priority list. Reality set in for me when I thought we had moved all our tools closer to the front when installing the bumper as we ran out of room between the front of the truck and the tools scattered on the driveway. It was then I realized just how far the ARB sticks out. I don't mind it but if you have a tight garage space it's something to consider.

Everything came so well packaged from ARB, my Sahara Bar Kit came with everything, the hoop, fog lights, winch cradle, turn signals, rubber trim, hardware, wiring harness with relay and switches, everything down to zip ties. I was impressed that 15 years after it left Australia it was in perfect shape with nearly zero corrosion and zero damage of any kind.

What is it about opening new gear? Man, it is like Christmas in February for me!
IMG_0514.JPG

Here is the main bar removed from the box and pallet, I also threw in my 3 Hella 4000's into the picture for fun.
IMG_0515.JPG

First order of business was to remove the winch cradle from the bumper, it was held in with a couple of bolts and it separates easily.
IMG_0526.JPG

The winch cradle serves a foundation for the bumper to fasten to and a place to hold the winch. It slips over the frame rails of the 100 with various bolts, spacers and channels but it is really straight forward. The winch cradle was angled backwards which is fine but it proved to make things a bit more difficult for my hopes of installing the big Warn m12000 onto it. Everything is nicely powder coated and the hardware is high quality with nice coatings.
